Today at Gateway I’m different academically and socially from when I was in Lower School. Today my strength in school is ELA, something I previously struggled with. Specifically, I'm a strong writer and a fluent reader. Writing essays comes easier for me and I enjoy writing them.

Growing up, I have always been an ambitious child who wanted to learn more However, my previous school lacked a basic structure that I needed in order to thrive in an academic setting When I transferred into Gateway in third grade, it was the starting point and today, I am at the finish line During my first two years, I created a figurative toolbox filled with the tactics and strategies which became the launching point into Middle School Although learning these strategies and tactics was very daunting, I found various uses for the toolbox outside of school. For instance, I conquered my most avoided activity, reading books When I transitioned into Middle School, my interest in books changed and evolved into something more complex
