7TH ANNUAL SENIOR OFFICERS’ SECURITY & LAW CONFERENCE GCSP GCSP is an international foundation with 45 member states from across the globe that provides forward-thinking and innovative solutions for leaders and policymakers concerned with international affairs and security in today’s complex, globalised world.

7th Annual Senior Officers’ Security & Law Conference Legal considerations have become a vital aspect of security operations. This conference convenes senior military officers, their civilian and police counterparts as well as high-level legal experts in order to discuss some of the most complex legal and practical challenges arising from the contemporary security environment.

Faculty profiles Conference speakers include GCSP’s international faculty composed of academics and practitioners with broad experience in international affairs, security policy, diplomacy and military affairs, as well as high-level international guest speakers from civil society, government, academia and international organisations.

Legal considerations have become vital in contemporary peace and security operations. This conference offers senior military officers and their civilian counterparts, as well as high-level legal experts an exclusive forum in a neutral and open environment to discuss the legal challenges arising from contemporary security operations with experienced experts and practitioners, as well as with their peers. All discussions are held under the Chatham House Rule.

Participant profile Senior military officers (LTC / COL / GEN), their civilian equivalents, and high-level legal experts. Participants are presumed to have professional expertise and experience in international law and the law of armed conflict.

Hosting 35 international organisations, more than 250 non-governmental organisations, and 173 diplomatic missions, representations and delegations, Geneva represents one of the world’s richest networks in international affairs.
