fter the success of OMGOh My God, which dealt with faith and superstitions, Umesh Shukla is all set for the release of his next film All Is Well. The film is a modern family drama where Abhishek Bachchan plays the character of present day Shravan Kumar. “This will be a pure family entertainer. My previous film revolved around God, so this time I wanted to make a film that could give a message on family values. The concept of family has changed today. In the movie, Abhishek plays a selfish son. His complex nature affects his love and professional life,” explains Umesh. Audiences had earlier compared the film’s trailer with Piku, a film that also circled around a

Here’s a comic film with a message

road trip wherein the actress had a complicated relationship with her father. Umesh, however, denies the comparison, “Yes, both movies feature a road trip but the subject is totally different. My film does not talk about constipation. It is a journey that ends in togetherness,” he says. Umesh also had to face a struggle in his initial days. His film, Dhoondte Reh Jaoge, didn’t do well and this affected him a lot. “After the film’s failure at the box office, big names refused to work with me. That was the toughest phase but it taught me that good content was important for a film to do well. Things changed after the success of Oh My God. Now, actors are assured that the film will have a quality script and content,” he adds. The director said Abhishek was always the first choice for the movie and pairing him with Rishi Kapoor turned into a bonus. “The film is a must-watch for everyone. This is a comical film, and it is not preachy at all. Everyone has worked hard to get the message out in the right way. Abhishek and Rishi play father and son, they share a crackling chemistry between them,” he says.

by the end of August,” he adds. All is Well is slated to release on August 21. zainab.kantawala@goldensparrow.com

Vasudha Sharma, to perform at a nightclub in the city this week By Zainab Kantawala @kantawalazainab

S

he burst onto the stage at the turn of the century as part of the band Aasma. Now, Vasudha is all set to play at the Girls and Guitars gig in the city. Her music is a blend of Indian classical and folk, with a touch of western contemporary music. She is a one-woman band so expect a bit of beat boxing, original compositions and mellifluous vocals when you grab a spot at her gig. “The Girl’s and Guitar gig is a concept initiated by singer-songwriter Geetu Hinduja. She connected with me and asked me if I would like to be a part of it and I liked the idea of songwriters getting together and presenting a show. We’ll be playing our original compositions backing each other up as well as present some fun covers together. The idea is to celebrate and have a good time together,” the singer says. Vasudha loves to experiment with different styles of music and her live gigs include loops with Indian and western music. “My aunt started teaching me sargam and Krishna bhajans when I was only four. I learned a lot of Brij folk songs at a very young age. Now, I love experimenting with different styles and genres of music,” she says. Over a decade ago, the artist featured on one of the first television reality shows in the country, where she found her passion for music. Vasudha was a member of the popular band Aasma, which is still remembered for its hit single Chandu Ke Chacha. “With Aasma, things were going great when we started but gradually pop music was

lost and remixes were gaining popularity. The band was going through a lot of complication. I wanted a break. As an artist, I wanted to do something refreshing. Recently, I managed to get the band together for a song I’d composed for Mothers’ Day. The song is called Ma Meri and it features singer Anusha Mani. All the band members’ moms also appear in the music video,” Vasudha says. The artist spent a year learning music at Berklee College of Music, USA, after she received a scholarship and then on there has been no looking back. She has been performing at India’s best nightclubs and playing at various music festivals. Her first single Jaagi Jaagi Raina is already popular and last year she launched her debut album Attuned Spirits. “I have recently collaborated with Alexandra Denda, a musician friend from Serbia. We are finishing working on the song and the video. It should hopefully be completed by August. This is an album that I am really excited about,” she adds. Vasudha also won an online contest where nearly 420 Indian bands participated. She gives all the credit to her guru, who motivated her to never give up on music. “My aunt Chitra Rao has been one of my main inspirations in music. Alanis Morisette and her songwriting has had a deep impact on me in the early years of my life. I am inspired when I listen to a beautiful piece of music or watch a powerful live performance,” she adds. When: August 5 Where: Bluefrog, Yerwada zainab.kantawala@goldensparrow.com

Musicians unite to celebrate Blues The concert will feature Strange Brew, Livewire, Blackwings, Moonstruck and Yeti. Look out for an all-star jam that will kick start the evening By Sudheer Gaikwad

nternational Blues Music Day’s (IBMD) catch line ― the world united in celebration of the Blues ― seems to have come true. After the inaugural IBMD in 2013, this year’s edition is truly global, stretching from the host city, New York, to Brazil, Japan, Australia, Italy, Ecuador, even making its way to India. Vernon Besterwitch is a singer-guitarist, who has been per-

forming and promoting concerts in the city for some time. His organisation, The Band Store, is putting together the Pune edition of IBMD. Vernon considers it a privilege to communicate with Johnny Childs in New York and have the Pune event

registered as part of the global celebration. “We have been promoting Blues music for the past three or four years in Pune. For IBMD, we are getting the top bands of Pune together on one stage. The bands play various genres of music, but

will be coming together to celebrate the Blues.” As a homage to the late BB King, most bands are expected to play at least one of his numbers as part of the performance. “Our band is influenced by the likes of Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Gary Moore and Jimi Hendrix. I am personally a huge fan of Moore and Robben Ford. Although we love the music of BB King, Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy, we are inclined towards the more modern, Southern Blues sound. We’ll be performing our take on the music by some of these artists as well as some Southern Blues Rock,” says Chris Fonseca, founder and virtuoso guitar player of Pune’s top rock act Strange Brew. Fonseca’s band has been wowing country-wide audiences with their wide repertoire of Rock music since the band was founded in the late 90s. Pranjal ‘Miq’ Kashyap, founder/guitarist of Blackwings, has been

an ardent blues buff for nearly two decades. “This event will give us the opportunity to share the feeling and love for Blues with like-minded musicians, not to mention all the listeners.” About the Blackwings repertoire, Miq says, “We are now moving towards New Age and Jazz-tinged Blues. We still love Albert King, Albert Collins and Ray Charles, but Blues has evolved beyond the pentatonic scale. Blues performers now are playing out of the box.” Albert Dennis, bassist for Livewire, said that they have put together a set featuring covers of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robben Ford and John Mayer. “The concert is a good concept that will give the audience an opportunity to experience a variety of Blues genres, some of which they may have never heard before,” says Albert. With a new generation comes new taste, but classical instruments have been painstakingly preserved by these city musicians

For the love of

music

By Zainab Kantawala @kantawalazainab

When the term musical instruments pops up, it usually brings with it images of a guitar, drums, or a piano. Classical instruments, especially Indian classical, usually stay on the periphery of such conversations particularly when youngsters prefer strumming an electric guitar over a sitar. Of course Niladri Kumar and his ilk break the convention, but overall a number of classical instruments are on the decline as music composers find it difficult to include them in their ensemble. It’s not all doom and despair though. Some musicians have been working hard to keep the sounds of traditional instruments alive. Gradually, new melodies and compositions are helping restore forgotten instruments from the brink of extinction.

Didgeridoo RAHUL RAUT

Amar Kulkarni

Amar Kulkarni is the founder of the band Ajala Dhwani Project that promotes instrumental music. He is also a guitarist, vocalist, and percussionist and has an eagerness for collecting various different and newer musical instruments from across the globe. He is India’s fi rst HAPI (Hand Activated Percussion Instrument) drummer. He has played the Didgeridoo several times in his performances with Taal Inc rhythm ensemble that plays high energy native West African rhythms. He has also experimented using the Didgeridoo on some of his compositions for his band. “I watched a television show many years ago and was fascinated by the Didgeridoo since then. I finally got my hands on one about five to six years ago and have been playing since then,” says Amar. ABOUT THE INSTRUMENT The Didgeridoo is an instrument from Australia and is said to be at least 40,000 years old. It’s typically used by the indigenous people and has been around for many centuries. It’s a wind instrument where the player creates a drone continually using circular breathing. “It’s not a very difficult instrument to start with. There are many interesting pulses one can accentuate and create a percussive rhythm. Though this is a wind instrument, in a musical context, I use it more in terms of rhythm and less in terms of melody,” Amar adds. The instrument is usually cylindrical or conical, and can measure anywhere from 1 to 3 m (3ft to 10 ft) long. The longer the instrument, the lower its pitch or key is.

Varun Venkit

Anupam Joshi started his musical journey with the Tabla at age 7. As time passed, Anupam showed an inclination towards sarod. Today, almost after a decade and a half of learning the intricacies of the instrument, he experiments with various other instruments like Sur-Singar, Dotara and a Japanese instrument called Shamisen. “I was driven towards Sarod after listening to maestro Ustad Ali Akbar Khan’s recital and have been clinging to it ever since,” says the musician, adding, “I have been playing the Sarod since the past 13 years now. Sur-Singar, being an ancestor of the Sarod, attracted my attention as I could play more traditional musical forms like Dhrupad on it,” says Anupam. Sur-Singar is larger in size, as compared to a Sarod, and produces a deep sound, where as Dotara is a two stringed instrument. Shamisen is a Japanese instrument that resembles the Sarod. “I have lived in Japan for three years. During the period, I was drawn to this Japanese traditional

instrument. It is a three-stringed instrument derived from the Chinese instrument called Sanxian. It is played with a tool called a bachi. The instrument is used to accompany Kabuki, puppet plays and folk song. Besides, since the Dotara is a folk cousin of the Sarod, it captured my interest with its capacity to produce folk melodies,” he adds. ABOUT THE INSTRUMENT Sur-Singar has a metal fi ngerboard neck with steel and

bronze strings. Dotara resembles a mandolin, and dates back to15th16th century when it was adopted by the cults of Bauls and Fakirs. Anupam believes that though Sur-Singar and Dotara are on the verge of extinction, Shamisen is regaining its popularity as a lot of Japanese Rock bands are using it in their compositions. “The popularity of Sur-Singar is on the decline as there is hardly any one playing it around the world, and Dotara is only used by some folk musicians in Bengal.”

Djembe

Halgi and Daf

Varun Venkit is the founder and director of Taal Inc, an organisation that popularises Drum Circles through music therapy. He is India’s only certified Djembe professor. Varun has been formally playing the instrument for over six years and has studied under the grandmaster Djembefola Mamady Keita from Guinea. “I first met Mamady in Singapore in 2010 after which I was in love with him as well as the instrument. I learnt the instrument under him. I was also inspired to bring the Djembe to India. Before Taal Inc was formed, the Djembe was not being taught in the country in its traditional form. We are India’s first school of the Djembe with centres in Pune and Mumbai,” says Varun.

Sujeet Soman is the founder of the instrumental band, Rhydhhm Evolution. Being a member of a Dhol Tasha group, Sujeet plays various instruments, including Halgi and Daf. “I have been associated with these instruments since I was in college. Though they are folk instruments, I also experiment with classical music. We have a group of hardcore Dhol Tasha players with whom I play Halgi and Daf as featured instruments,” he says.

ABOUT THE INSTRUMENT A Djembe is a goblet shaped drum made out of one piece of hollowedout hard wood, mounted with a skin. It hails from Western Africa. In the Mandingue, a former kingdom of West Africa, the Djembe is synonymous with life and every rhythm has a story, a history, belonging to a particular ethnic group. It is played for a very special reason. There are particular rhythms for a good harvest, for marriage, baptism, celebrations, etc. “The Djembe is an amazing instrument. It has changed my life for the better. The instrument can be played with many genres of music due to its versatile nature. It is our mission to spread this philosophy of the Djembe and to bring people together in unity,” adds Varun. They conduct classes in Artsphere, Kalyani Nagar, and Muziclub, Baner.

Rudra Veena

Pandit Hindraj Divekar

ABOUT THE INSTRUMENT The Halgi is a smaller version of Daf, and is played with Dholki. The traditional instruments were used by the folk artists of Maharashtra. “Halgi is traditional Maharashtrian jugalbandi instrument, where as Daf has its origin in Persia. There are two types of Daf, one that is used by the Shahir and the other used by kings to show the strength of the troop at the battlefield. One can play the instrument to various festive songs,” informs Sujeet. Brought up in a family of musicians, Pandit Hindraj was introduced to Sitar and Rudra Veena by his father Pt Hindagandharva Divekar, a vocalist and Rudra Veena player himself. Pandit Hindraj has played the instrument for large audiences, captivating them with his music in India and abroad. He is one of the very few surviving Rudra Veena players in India today and has also penned a book, Rudra Veena: An Ancient

String Musical Instrument, on the instrument. “The Rudra Veena is considered the mother of all string instruments. Lord Shiva is said to have played this instrument when he created the entire Brahamanda. Hindu mythology includes several stories that feature Shiva and Parvati dancing to the tunes of a Rudra Veena,” he says. ABOUT THE INSTRUMENT Rudra Veena goes back to the

He is easily one of India’s f inest Jaltarang artistes. Milind Tulankar learned music from his grandfather Pandit Shankar Kanhere, who was a famous Jaltarang player. He is also adept with other instruments such as Santoor, Tabla and Harmonium. Milind has played the instrument in countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, among others. “I started playing Jaltarang when I was 12. I used to play my grandfather’s instrument when he was away for his routine duties. He saw my potential and asked me to focus on it so as to maintain the family legacy. Now, it feels great that I could bring back the glory of this fantastic instrument and do justice to Indian classical music,” says Milind.

ABOUT THE INSTRUMENT Jaltarang is one of the most rarely heard instruments today. The instrument has been described in ancient Sanskrit texts from the third century. It simply consists of china bowls aligned in a semicircle around the musician. Each bowl is fi lled with water and struck by two cane sticks. Earlier, since China clay bowls were not available, artists would use metal bowls. Each bowl can be tuned to the desired frequency by varying the quantity of water in it. “The number of cups depends on the melody being played. The player softly hits the edge of the bowls with a wooden stick to create a soft sound. It is not easy to tune the instrument and needs a mature musical ear. Since the water level in the bowl decides the Swara, the instrument can be fine-tuned to various scales,” adds Milind.

INSTRUMENTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD It’s not just rare Indian instruments that have caught the attention of Pune’s musicians. Influences from as far away as Africa and Australia, have shaped city musician’s choices. time when music was invented by Indian meditators and musicians trying to fi nd a way to articulate their experiences. “Th is is an instrument with the most meditative qualities, but today there are very few Rudra Veena player’s left in India,” Pandit Hindraj says. Numerous types of Veena feature in Indian music history like Rudra Veena, Saraswati Veena, Vichitra Veena, Mohan Veena, and so on. Rudra Veena is an instrument that is very

rare in our music history since Vedic times. “The sound of Rudra Veena is totally different when compared to other Veenas. It is deep, of very low frequency, and not very high pitch indicating that there was silence in the world when it was created by Lord Shiva,” Pandit Hindraj explains. He teaches Rudra Veena Dhrupad Style and Khayal Style, North Indian, Hindustani music system, and Sitar at his academy at Budhwar Peth, Pune.

hile Mahindra was out pleasing the masses, Mercedes had a surprise in store for the classes: three luxury launches in a single day. Announced on 30 July were the Mercedes S 500 Coupe, the S 63 AMG Coupe and the “crazy colour” editions of the bonkers G 63 AMG. Love the opulent size of the S-class but prefer to drive it yourself? Mercedes have you covered. Do your tastes run toward a lurid-green 544hp SUV that plebians would mistake for a Tata Sumo? They’ve got your back. The S 500 and S 63 AMG coupes are powered by 4.6 and 5.5-litre biturbo V8 motors putting out 455hp and 585hp respectively. Torque figures are ridiculous, and more ridiculous (700 and 900Nm

for the pedants). The coupes also come with what Mercedes calls “Magic Body Control” which uses a camera to scan the road surface and adjust the suspension accordingly. It’s quite astonishing to watch. Also part of the system is a function called “curve tilting”

which makes the car lean into corners much like a motorcyclist, reducing lateral forces acting on passengers and making for a more comfortable ride. Mercedes is particularly proud of their “designo” customisation program, through which Indian

Mahindra announces TUV300 Based on an all-new platform and inspired by a battle tank, Mahindra focuses on a tough vibe for its new small SUV

A

s is de rigueur these days, Mahindra decided to finally name the new product that’s been expected for a while, and do a product announcement. Previously only known as codename ‘project U301’, the TUV300 (sadly, they continue to call it the three double-oh, in the tradition of the XUV) is a small SUV that will come in under 4m in length and features a brand-new mHawk80 engine, the numerical element of the name we can only surmise indicates its power output.

Swarovski crystals. Also on display at the launch event were the far more visually striking G 63 AMG SUVs in what Mercedes (accurately) calls “crazy colours”. The colours include “solar beam, sunset beam and alien green”

While the U301/TUV300 was rumoured to be a replacement/extension of the Bolero brand, Mahindra officials put them to rest, stating categorically that no products are to be replaced by the new small SUV. They were also at pains to call it a “tough” SUV, eschewing “small”

from the brand vocabulary. While the product launch and availability is six weeks away, media were shown two sketches indicating what the vehicle will look like. If the production model is anywhere near these sketches in form, we’d say Mahindra will have a winner on its hands. Sadly, that’s rarely the case with concept sketches. The vehicle was designed in the Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai, with input from storied Italian design fi rm Pininfarina. Manufacturing will take place in Mahindra’s Chakan facility. Considering that the TUV300 is to be below 4m in length, we’d expect the mHawk80 engine to come in at around 1.5 litres in capacity. Th is would put the package in a favourable excise tax bracket and allow the company to price it lower. 4WD will not be available, though the vehicle will make it to global markets by 2016, including a left-hand drive variant. Mahindra officials also explained that they do not expect cannibalization across the range due to the new product, so we’d expect the TUV300 range to start below the Scorpio and have some overlap in pricing, considering its positioning as a product for the urban buyer.

Triumph launches cheaper Tiger XR adventure bike

Brings the range to four off-road capable motorcycles

T

riumph was an early entrant to the adventure tourer motorcycle segment in India with it’s Tiger twins. Initially available in 800 and 1200cc versions, the range was expanded

with the recently released 800 XCx and XRx models. The Tiger XR brings the count to four. Available for Rs 10,50,000 ex-showroom, Delhi, the bike benefits from local assembly in bringing its price down. Th is makes it the cheapest adventure bike Triumph sells in the country. In the process, it loses some electronic bells and whistles such as switchable riding modes and cruise control,

but retains ABS and traction control for safety, albeit simpler systems. The seat differs from its more expensive stable-mates and there’s no adjustable windscreen or centre-stand. The motor is the same 800cc 95hp triple shared by the XR range and claims a 17% increase in efficiency over the previous 800. The bike is available in crystal white (pictured) and phantom black paint schemes.

Started only a year ago, Psyd Effects is the brain child of Bhushan Sawat (29) a resident of Baner. Bhushan, who is originally from Mumbai, did his Bachelor in Business Administration from Marathwada Mitra Mandal College of Commerce (MMCC) and has been living in Pune ever since. He calls the city his adopted home. Pursuing his hobby to paint, Bhushan, who has had no formal training in painting, started his entrepreneur adventure with the intention of delivering merchandise that is not only aesthetically appealing but also affordable and memorable. Putting on canvas whatever caught his eye, Bhushan slowly moved to digitally printing all his creations on T-shirts that are now on sale, priced Rs 400 onwards. “The design is fi rst painted and reviewed by my friends

and people that I work with before they are digitally printed on any of the merchandise. Most times, there is a lot of thought that goes behind the designs and the colour making it a longer process,” says Bhushan. The few themes that Bhushan has worked on it the past are those of symmetry and the Meluha illustrations following the release of the book series. “Sometimes even things that surprise me are sketched out,” Bhushan tells us. Apart from T-shirts the entrepreneurial venture sells laptop sleeves (Rs 600), phone cases (Rs 400-500), coasters and clocks priced according to the size and design. As an upcoming initiative, Psyd Effects is also looking to enhance the customer experience by customising the packaging depending on the order. Get in touch: 9619464445

While she has been a tailor for almost 20 years, painting is only something she started six years ago. Most of the patient’s creations are displayed at exhibitions, helping them earn an income. The artist is currently busy drawing out Warli motifs on bags and she hopes to take up landscape and Madhubani designs next. Most of the work Radhika does is custom-made and is largely based n word of mouth. “My friends, fam-

Niyati Rambhia To keep herself occupied during vacations, Niyati Rambhia (23), a dentistry student and a resident of Katraj, began customising fairy lights. Initially, friends benefitted from her creative exploration before her scope expanded. When her work was appreciated, Niyati decided to put her efforts to good use and began making and selling the customised fairy lights under the name Craftbox to raise funds for the Nepal earthquake victims. The fairy lights are neatly boxed with a character or design of one’s choice. They are priced between Rs 350-450. Having started this business two years ago, Niyati believes that her educational background is responsible for this venture. “Had it not been for me studying dentistry, I would probably have not felt the need to do something creative,” says Niyati. Working at Cognizant, Hinjewadi, as a graphic designer, Radhika Phatak (23), a resident of Sadashiv Peth, began painting umbrellas three years ago. “We had to do calligraphy on an umbrella as a part of an assignment in college. I enjoyed the activity so much that I made a few more for my friends and everyone absolutely loved the idea,” says the graduate in Fine Arts from Bharti Vidyapeeth University, Pune. When she decided to paint commercially, she began with a mere 20 umbrellas, which she believed to be too many back then. Starting at Rs 500, the umbrellas are priced depending largely are on the size and can be customised as per the buyer’s wishes. Radhika plans to start painting objects as a full-time business. She currently runs another venture called Kosh, which sells hand-made jewellery. She says that the motive behind this side-business is to make the products available at an affordable price. He’s not just strumming a guitar Dale Desmier shares his creative journey, which includes making, as well as playing, guitars. He patiently chisels life into an instrument and believes that the satisfaction of playing a new guitar’s first note is incomparable By Zainab Kantawala @kantawalazainab

t isn’t easy being a craftsman. Some do it to pass time activity, while for other’s it’s a matter of earning bread and butter. Dale Desmier creates guitars simply because he is passionate about it. Th roughout the day, he is seen honing and shaping wood so that it can wield the power to mesmerise. Dale is a guitarist by profession and he holds a passion for making guitars. “My elder brother taught me how to play the guitar when I was six years old. As a child, I would make car and train models as a hobby. When my interest in playing the guitar grew, I had the urge to own an instrument

that was one of a kind, something that was unique. So I started making one myself,” says Dale. He has made 25 guitars including a pedal steel guitar that has 20 strings and a bass guitar that has strings on both sides. He has also made guitars that look like a helicopter and an airplane. Dale can add strings to whatever catches his fancy and strum it like a pro. “I made my fi rst guitar when I was 16. I started out on a trial-and-error basis. I found the scraps of wood here and there and came up with all kinds of creative ways to do the best I could with whatever material I had available. I carved and designed the instrument. My parents were surprised to see the final outcome. After that I continued to improvise my skills,” adds the

43-year-old. Being completely self-taught and self-sufficient, he has made some of the finest handcrafted guitars. Shaping, carving and polishing each guitar takes Dale at least three months. His raw material mainly includes wood, steel and brass. “It seems like every guitar is a new challenge. I never make the same guitar twice but I have an urge to keep refining and improving my skill. The pedal steel guitar took the longest time, nearly six months, and I would consider it my best work,” he smiles. Besides creating masterpieces, Dale plays solo at a popular shopping mall every Tuesday and Thursday. Over the years, as he made unique guitars, he also developed a one-of-a-kind performing style. So Dale

plays the guitar with his hands as well as his feet. Clearly, his style makes him a hit performer in the city. He also plays the saxophone apart from giving his vocal chords a few tugs too. Dale has three instrumental gospel albums to his credit. “People always ask me about the way I perform and my guitars. They are startled to see such an instrument. It makes me happy and proud,” he says. When he isn’t making guitars, Dale takes up volunteer church work, and he is working towards setting up a platform to teach kids mu- s i c free of cost. zainab.kantawala @goldensparrow.com

City welcomes the rains with Parikrama’s power performance By Manasi Shroff @ManasiShroff

P

une is now being known for encouraging new bands and musicians to come out there and put forth their talent. To boost the live music culture even more, Parikrama, a band most of us are familiar with rocked the stage at the Classic Rock Coffee Co. They’re not just a known and popular band, but the boys in here are simply cool people to hang out with. While the band started rather late but the moment they picked up the beats Nitin (lead vocals) Sonam (lead guitars), Saurabh (guitar), Subir (organist, synthesisers), Gaurav (bass guitar) and Srijan (drums) set the stage on fire. The audience as usual, was more than thrilled and swayed to their tunes. When asked about how they like to party, the boys simply said that for them “partying is being together. We do manage to scandalise a lot of people around with our craziness, but we guess

we need to be like that for what we are.” They also completely believe that when put together in a room, they don’t just create amazing music, but also create a lot of mad memories transforming into an energy that keeps them inspired at all times. Speaking about inspiration, their style seems to be barely inspired from that of a rockstar. They love their pair of shorts and jeans with basic tees, but when they begin to perform, you realise that their style lies in their music. Their instruments are their accessories and their voice is their fashion. No wonder they’ve managed to gather a massive fan following and have been around for years together. When we asked their fans about the performance, Mrunal, Rohit, Amol, Aakash, Nambi, Aniruddha and Parth, instantly started to chant out ‘Parikrama’ as they couldn’t hold their excitement of the show. The young boys and a girl claimed to have been music freaks who enjoy being a part of concerts together. “We love chilling together, it’s like our stress buster from the hectic lives we live,” said the boys as Mrunal claimed that “it’s cool to see so many gigs happening in Pune. It’s been an eventful month for us and we hope we keep having exciting people coming down every fortnight at least.”

Jack’s Only Entertainment, a four-piece band based out of Mumbai will be playing live at the Hard Rock Cafe. n her two-decade long career, Tabu has never been on a signing spree because she feels a good role is enough to keep an actor alive in the audience's mind. The 43-year-old Haider star said she has a unique "temperament" which does not allow her to follow others. "I can't do back-to-back films. I can't do promotions.
