27. The Walls of Jericho Joshua 6

Joshua led the Israelites to Jericho, the very big city with the very, very big wall. The people who lived there locked their gates. There was no way to get in.

God told Joshua that all the soldiers should march around the city once every day for six days. Then on day seven they should march round seven times. The last time, they should blow their trumpets and shout. God promised that when they did this, the very big walls would completely collapse.

Joshua did as God said. The Israelites marched around Jericho once. Twice. Three times. Four. Five. Six.

Then on day seven, seven times. Then they blew their trumpets and shouted.

At that moment the walls came crashing down.

God had given the Israelites the city!
