ABOUT YOUR ROOM

Accommodations The Grand is your home away from home, therefore we’ve taken the liberty of providing you a room that personifies comfort and personal dignity. We provide each resident with exquisitely designed furniture, to accommodate all their needs. If you would like to bring your own furniture, a prior discussion with your Social Worker is requested to facilitate. We further enhance your comfort and basic needs by including fluffy cotton towels, custom bed linens, drapes, and bedspreads, along with all creature comforts.

Pictures and Wall Hangings Feel free to make your room as comfortable as possible. If you wish to hang a picture or any other personal belongings, we’d be more than happy to help you with whatever you may need in order to make your room your own personal space.

Personal Electronics If you have electronics you’d like in your room, please contact the Director of Maintenance. Guided by the New York State Department of Health policies, our maintenance team can install approved electronics.

At The Grand, we understand you want to achieve your rehabilitative goals as quickly and safely as possible—to get back to living. To support you, we proudly offer a unique combination of state-of-the-art resources provided by highly trained, committed personnel. When you arrive, The Grand’s interdisciplinary teams, including nursing, medical, social work and rehabilitation, partner to create a treatment plan that is uniquely yours. Incorporating daily living activities with intensive therapy in our state-of-the-art facility, our newly expanded rehabilitation gym with innovative equipment ensures that each guest receives top quality rehabilitative care. Our dedicated staff has one goal: to help you resume an active and productive life—as soon as possible at home, in the community or at The Grand.

Our goal is to restore you to your previous and optimal level of functioning and get you back to your home as soon as possible.



CONCIERGE

The Grand Concierge We believe in offering you all the comforts of a five star hotel. The Concierge will greet you upon admission, answer any questions, tend to all your needs, and help you settle in. During your stay at The Grand, you will have full access to our Concierges, each one working to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. From bringing you an extra blanket, to running out and picking up a birthday gift for a loved one, our Concierges are available whenever you need them. You could even say “consider it done� when a request comes to the Concierge.

TECHNOLOGY

T h e G r a n d Te c h n o l o g y iPad The Grand is a pioneer in healthcare technology. Our innovative and complimentary iPad program provides you with a means to communicate directly with family and loved ones worldwide, allowing you to remain connected via email, video chat or internet. Each iPad comes with a free Netflix subscription, with thousands of shows at your fingertips. Please contact the Recreation Department for more information. One of the key features of our Concierge App is that it allows you to receive the extras in a timely fashion. In addition to the standard apps such as news and social networking, our app allows residents to order their choice of food, housekeeping or maintenance at the touch of a button.

Wi-Fi The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Chittenango offers free Wi-Fi Internet access for your enjoyment.

Phone You will receive your own bedside direct dial phone to connect with our staff and stay in touch with loved ones.


E N T E R TA I N M E N T

Television Complimentary Subscriptions We subscribe to numerous newspapers and magazines that are delivered to The Grand daily. For more information or to request complimentary subscriptions, please contact the Recreation Department.

The Grand strives to fulfill all of your entertainment needs. With your own flat screen television and remote control, you choose the programs you would like to view in your room. Please refer to your bedside TV Guide for a complete list of channels. The Grand also offers an extensive DVD collection available for you to borrow at your leisure.


R E C R E AT I O N Activities & Recreation Program In recognition of the importance of our guests remaining active and involved, The Grand instituted a stimulating Recreation Program with numerous exciting activities taking place both inside and outside of the facility. We are happy to enhance each guests’ enjoyment by inviting family members to join all activities, particularly holiday celebrations. In our quest to meet all individual needs, our Recreation Department can provide both group and individualized programming. You’ll receive a monthly newsletter and calendar detailing all upcoming recreational activities and events. In addition to hand delivering these updates to all guests, they are also posted at each Nursing Station.

Resident Council Your thoughts and ideas matter at The Grand. The Resident Council is a monthly forum where you can voice any concerns, opinions or suggestions you have about life here at The Grand. The Recreation Director and/or the Director of Social Services attend every meeting to listen, answer questions, and record the meeting minutes. Recreation Director and/or the Director of Social Services also serves as a liaison between the council, Administrator and The Grand staff members.

Message from our Resident Council: Welcome to The Grand! We encourage you to attend our monthly meetings, as well as those of the food committee. Be sure to check the recreation calendar for fabulous programming that will enhance your stay at The Grand and let us know if there is anything we can do to make your time here more enjoyable - all questions, comments and concerns are welcome. Religious Services You are invited to attended weekly religious services. Please contact the Recreation Department or see the recreation calendar for the dates and times of each service.


FOOD

Menu Selection At The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Batavia, we provide meal selections that are both nutritious and delicious. Gourmet menus are hand delivered to help you choose the meals that are most appropriate for your dietary needs and desires. Each crafted meal is lovingly prepared by hand-picked culinary trained chefs whose expertise and experience are overseen by a Dietary Supervisor and a Registered Dietitian. We work hard to produce an array of delectable foods that will cater to each guest’s personal preferences. We also encourage our guests to join their peers for meals in our spacious and inviting Dining Room. Our dietary staff is here to satisfy every conceivable need, so if you wish to have an alternative meal or a Grandwich, please inform your nurse ahead of time. You also have the option to converse with your Dietitian about individual food preferences and unique dietary needs.

Here at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Batavia, we thoroughly recognize that as a guest, you always want to look wellgroomed and presentable to those around you. Accordingly, we have a certified beautician that visits the facility every week. For more information about these services, please see the Front Desk.


A P PA R E L

Clothing Labels Upon arrival at The Grand, we provide you with a gift bag with personalized Grand clothing as our gift to you. To ensure the safety of your most important possessions, The Grand highly recommends that you allow our staff to label all clothing that you bring into the facility. The staff at your respective Nursing Station will do their utmost to label and return your clothing within 24 hours.

Laundry The Grand will gladly take care of your laundry needs. We will pick up and deliver clothing every day. If you prefer to have your family or friends do laundry for you, we will gladly comply with your preference.

The Grand Courtesy Shuttle is available free of charge to pick up family members, enabling them to take part in their loved one’s care and improvement. The Grand Courtesy Shuttle is also available for resident appointments and supervised outings.
