Seek to fulfill your spouse’s needs before your own. And don’t be afraid to schedule sex. You can get excited about your plans and look forward to your time together.
6. Support change. You and your spouse will change over the course of your marriage and it’s important to accept those changes. Continue to value and trust each other, but don’t try to hold the other back from growth—it’s easy for resentment to creep in if you do. 7. Celebrate milestones. Be intentional about
making memories with your spouse, especially for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Create your own celebrations and traditions as a couple. INGREDIENTS 8 black tea bags, preferably English breakfast 5 tablespoons sugar 3 1/2 cups store-bought or homemade lemonade, divided 1 cup vodka, divided Lemon wheels (for garnish) DIRECTIONS Bring 3 1/2 cups water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and add tea bags and sugar. Let steep 4 minutes. Divide 3 cups tea between 2 ice cube trays; chill remaining 1/2 cup tea. Divide 3 cups lemonade between remaining 2 ice cube trays; chill remaining 1/2 cup lemonade. Freeze until solid. Blend lemonade ice cubes, 1/2 cup vodka, and 1/2 cup lemonade in a blender until smooth. Transfer to a spouted liquid measuring cup or pitcher. Rinse blender jar and add tea ice cubes and remaining 1/2 cup tea and 1/2 cup vodka; blend until smooth. Tilt a large glass to one side and fill halfway with lemonade mixture. While slowly returning glass to upright position, pour in frozen tea mixture to fill glass and create a swirl. Garnish with lemon wheels.

INGREDIENTS 4 fresh sweet cherries, halved, pitted 1/4 of a lemon 1/4 of a lime 5–6 fresh mint leaves 1/2 oz simple syrup 1 dash Angostura bitters 2 oz dark rum Mint sprigs (for garnish) DIRECTIONS Using a muddler or the handle of a wooden spoon, muddle cherries, lemon and lime wedges, mint leaves, simple syrup, and bitters in a mixing glass or cocktail shaker. Add rum and stir to combine.

INGREDIENTS 2 oz rye or bourbon whiskey 1/2 oz sweet vermouth 1/2 oz dry vermouth 2 dashes Angostura or orange bitters Maraschino cherry or small piece lemon peel for garnish DIRECTIONS In mixing glass or cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine whiskey, vermouth, and bitters. Cultivating courage can be easy if we focus on putting in the time and energy to do it. Here are some of my favorite methods for developing courage on a daily basis:

1. Know yourself. Take the time to examine who you are as a person, so you can figure out your strengths and the areas where maybe you need to grow a little to be courageous. Then, start working on those areas where you could use some improvement, or ask for help from others, so they can pick up the slack.
BE BRAVE Start over, one step at-a-time
2. Take responsibility for your mistakes. Look at how you live your life and where you have made errors. Own up to your mistakes, recognize them and try to learn from them. Apologize as needed. 3. Forgive yourself. No one is perfect. Strive for progress, not perfection. If you fall off the horse, be kind to yourself and get right back on. 4. Stand up for yourself. Do not let others push you to think, act or feel in ways not right for you. Be brave in standing up for your wants and needs.
5. Don’t give up. Remember, you will always have hope as long as you keep trying. When times get tough and your courage is waning; rest, recharge and then keep going. Fight for what you want and need. 6. Learn to say yes. If something sounds appealing but it is a little scary, say yes and try it. At least put a toe in the water—you may discover something new about yourself. 7. On the other hand, learn to say no. If something or someone makes you uncomfortable, rally your courage and say “no” to investing your time and energy. 8. Let go of what you can’t fix or change. Even the most courageous of people can’t change what they can’t change. If you can’t fix something, let go of it, accept it as it is and invest your skills in areas that you can change or improve.
