ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT Find the positive in every situation
Life right now isn’t how anyone planned for it. Plans have been cancelled, family has been distant, and in reality, all you want to do is getaway. While better days are on the horizon—you can make today better by transforming your attitude. Here are some ideas to help you:
Quit being a victim. It is easier to assume the role of a victim during tough times than taking responsibilities for yourself. But doing so will only prolong your suffering, and put off people who may be able to help you out. Letting go of the victim label also frees you from resentment and bitterness, which will only jam up the creative energies you need to get out of the mess.
Focus on the positives. No matter how dire a situation may be, there are always some positives you can find in it. It is our unwillingness to look at them that blind us to the brighter sides. Think of ten positive things that will happen from this pandemic. Give thanks. Having listed the positives you can think of, give thanks for the current situation as well as the

things that you already have. For one, things could be a lot worse! It won’t be easy to be thankful in the face of harsh challenges, but focusing on what you do have, instead of what you have lost, will put you in a better position to solve problems on hand, than being in a self-pity and sorrowful state. Get enough sleep. During stressful times, we’re likely to skimp on sleep, either voluntarily or not. But in reality, you will need more quality sleep during stressful times than ever so that you can remain energetic, clear-headed and focused to figure out your next steps. Limit bad news intake. Being constantly fed with gloomy news is enough to make even a dog panic for no reason. Hearing bad news once is enough, not ten times of the same news in different versions from every gadget that you own.
Join forces with others. When bad things happen, it is easy to become close-minded. But the reality is, you are not alone during difficult times. There are many people who feel the same way as you do, even though they may not voice it out loud.
Get close to nature. Researchers found that spending time in your favorite outdoor area is more relaxing and restorative than time spent in your favorite urban settings or city parks. Taking a mindful walk outdoors is also a great way to clear the mind and regain mental balance.

INGREDIENTS 1 c. fresh lemon juice 1/2 c. pure maple syrup 1 1/2 strawberries, hulled and halved 1 c. sparkling water 1 c. blueberries (optional)
Spicy Grapefruit Sidecar INGREDIENTS Grapefruit wedge, for rimming 2 tsp. granulated sugar 2 tsp. chili powder Ice 2 oz. cognac 2 oz. grapefruit juice 1 oz. Cointreau Grapefruit slice, for garnish

INGREDIENTS 1 can frozen limeade concentrate 2 shots tequila 2 c. ice DIRECTIONS Blend sangria mixture. Transfer mixture to the freezer while you blend margarita mixture. Rinse blender and blend margarita mixture. On a small plate combine sugar and salt. Run a wedge of lime around the rim of a glass and dip in sugar and salt. Alternate layers of sangria and margarita. Garnish with lime and serve.
Strawberry Jalapeño Mint Julep
INGREDIENTS 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. granulated sugar 2 jalapeños, halved 1/4 c. chopped strawberries 8 fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish 2 oz. bourbon Ice 1 (12-oz.) can seltzer Strawberry, for garnish Red jalapeño, sliced, for garnish DIRECTIONS In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, sugar, and jalapeños. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. Discard jalapeños. In a cocktail glass, muddle strawberries and mint. PLAY TOGETHER Let go! Take time to have fun!
We can all agree healthy relationships require a lot of effort. But sometimes, all you really need to do is relax and have fun. It’s time to take a step back, and take time to play with your partner. Here are some ideas to get you started:
Have an “Attitude of Gratitude” – write down 25 or more things you appreciate about your beloved, take turns sharing with one another what you wrote. Go on a trust walk – one person leads the other while blindfolded and then switch. Talk about the experience, how well did you trust this person? Was this an easy task or hard task, why? Have a surprise day for no reason. Surprise your beloved with something as if it were a special occasion.
Stop saying “no” and start saying “yes” to your partner’s wishes for one evening. Remember to take turns, perhaps go ride bikes. Get reacquainted – ask each other interesting questions that will enhance and deepen your connection and understanding of one another and that facilitate conversation. Such as: • If you could never speak again, how would you express your love to me?

• What was your favorite part of your childhood?

Fill each popsicle mold three-quarters full with Prosecco. Fill molds to top with lemonade of your choice and insert popsicle sticks. Freeze for 6 hours, or until frozen. Before serving, run the molds under warm water to loosen the popsicles.

INGREDIENTS 1 box instant vanilla pudding 1 1/3 c. cold milk 1 can sweetened condensed milk 3 large bananas, thinly sliced 2 c. crushed Nilla wafers DIRECTIONS In a large bowl, combine vanilla pudding mix, milk and sweetened condensed milk and whisk until smooth. Stir occasionally until the pudding has thickened, about 5 minutes. Place a banana slice into the bottom of each Dixie cup. Top with a big spoonful of pudding mixture. Place a couple more banana slices on top then sprinkle crushed Nilla wafers on top. Top with more pudding to fill the cup completely, then sprinkle with more wafers. Freeze until solid, at least 5 hours and up to overnight.
