Feedback from our couples about their experiences with suppliers! We love receiving feedback about the excellent jobs our GV Vendors are doing! If you have something you would love to share with us about your supplier experience, we would love to hear from you! Email hello@thebridalco.com.au
We didn’t think we could love the photos any more but every time we look at our album we notice something different. We wanted something ‘in the moment’, informal & relaxed. We had requested photos to be taken throughout the reception where Elysia mixed very naturally with all of our guests. - Jacqueline
Jill & Staff from the The Connection were outstanding nothing was too much trouble, they catered the event with amazing finger food, supplied the beautiful fresh flowers for the tables and made a delicious chocolate wedding cake and all at an outstanding price. - Bree + Tim

When we met Melissa, we weren’t sure what to expect in a celebrant! But within minutes we knew that Melissa was just perfect for us... It was as if we’d known her for a long time. We had some ideas that weren’t traditional and with the advice and confidence we received from Melissa they became a reality. - Kara & Sam Dawes

THE BRIDESMAID DIARIES By Bridesmaid Amy When I was a little girl all I wanted to be was a flower girl in someone’s wedding, unfortunately that was not to be, I am the youngest of three girls so by the time I came around most of my parents friends were married with kids of their own. So when I was asked to be one of my sisters bridesmaids I was understandably excited! I was 15 at the time and this was my first real glimpse into wedding planning, it felt special to be in on what our dresses were going to look like let alone what the bride’s dress would look like before the big day. My sister had 4 bridesmaids including me, we were all varying ages, body types and colourings as is the case with most bridal parties so the hunt for dresses was a challenge. We did find a dress that suited us all, an ice mint tone empire line dress with wide straps so that we could
(26)
all wear a bra, not that all of us needed to at the time… The next wedding I was in I was 21 and things had changed it was now popular for the bridesmaid dresses to be different styles or different colours and this made the job of finding dresses much simpler, where had this idea been six years earlier! I was a bridesmaid another two times and each wedding was completely different from the last, each dress was completely different from the last, floor length to cocktail, pale pink to bright red. I felt special in each dress, and I still have everyone of them, I wouldn’t fit into many of them anymore, but I keep them because I love them and one day if I have a little girl she can play dress ups in them and dream of the day that she will get to be a bridesmaid herself.

JACQUI & Rob - OLIVEHOUSE When a vision to produce and sell olives and olive oil turned into so much more! Jacqui and Rob are the wonderful owners at The Olivehouse, with Jacqui front of house and Rob in the kitchen, they are an unstopable duo! AfterJacqui’s parents purchased the estate in Kialla 15 years ago, it has developed into a little olive hot spot! Originally a place to grow and sell olives the business expanded into a restaurant and function venue as well. The perfect match to the olive trade.
(36)
The Olivehouse is a popular choice for wedding venues in the GV and Jacqui and Rob’s dedication is credit to that! Their passion for what they do is clear, it’s all about the experience. Jacqui says “for us it’s about making someone’s Wedding Day the best and most memorable experience they can possibly have” Jacqui and Rob are inspired by local produce, using it in the restaurant as much as possible and say the vast range grown here is one of their favourite things about the Goulburn Valley.
KADIME MEHMET What little girl doesnt love dresses? As a child Kadime always knew she wanted to make dresses and has turned this passion at a young age into a career! After finishing school she went on to study fashion. The studying didn’t last long because her passion was to just get in there and create beautiful gowns. “All I wanted to do was make dresses!” After making some dresses for family and friends, Kadime decided she needed to take things a step further.
Kadime decided to inlist in private classes to learn the art of pattern drafting. After starting classes with local dress maker Maria, ‘The Pattern Drafter’, Kadime started to really find her feet with drafting patterns and she loved every minute of it! “I love creating, when I’m working it’s like a meditation I think of nothing else and also I love the fact that I get to share a special part in the lead up to people’s occasions. I love making people happy.”

At the base of the Strathbogie ranges, this town is full of richly designed victorian style brick buildings, green tree lined landscapes & beautiful parks and bush areas as well as being surrounded by other beautiful lush areas. Goorum Falls, Honeysuckle Creek, Magars Hill Winery, Polly McQuinns & Mt Wombat are all beautiful photo & ceremony locations right here in the GV! The reimagined ice and butter factory is just one of the buildings constructed in the height of Queen Victoria’s Era. The simple elegance of this building and others alike adds to the charm of the

quaint country town and its beautuful street scapes. These buildings have something special that moden archietcture doesn’t, absolutely timeless in their style and can be appreciated for their unique design. The many churches in and around Euroa have such diversity and all vary so much from each other but all have their own gorgeous and unique look. Surrounded by perfectly maicured gardens they are the perfect photo opp! Euroa is also home to some amazing accommodation - a popular and striking option for bridal parties is The White House. A beauiful 1930’s white double story house it is the picture perfect backdrop to start and end your wedding weekend!

LIZ ARCUS - LIZ ARCUS PHOTOGRAPHY Liz is one of the Goulburn Valley’s photographic gems! After coming to the area for the fruit season 23 years ago - she fell in love with the area and has been here ever since. “I very much love how diverse and multicultural our Goulburn Valley community is. I also love that it is situated in the middle of so many wonderful areas to visit.” Her passion for photography started at a young age using her mothers Box Brownie (for the younger generation that’s a camera) and developing a passion she couldn’t ignore.
(58)
After approaching a studio to work as soon as she was legal to do so, Liz began to recognise and get to know local Sydney photographers who she then spent years working with and admiring. Liz photographed her first wedding at the age of 17 and has developed a unique documentary style capturing many moments! “Weddings are a smorgasboard of amazing moments and emotions and a feast of pictures to capture as they unfold. It’s a wonderful adventure every time and I love how every couple, every group of people, every wedding is different.”
NIGEL PARSONS - CURRENT STAND Nigel Parsons is a name synonomous with great music in the Goulburn Valley. Starting music lessons at the age of five, Nigel clearly had the natural talent for learning music! Training under some fairly impressive music industry stars - Nigel began to play guitar at the age of 16 when he realised, in his words, ‘It was so much cooler than classical piano’. What keeps him passionate about the local music scene is the comradery amoungst fellow muscians and music lovers that enjoy the performances.
“My favorite part of the music industry here is having someone approach you at the end of a gig and say how much they enjoyed the performance. Musicians in this area are amazing, sharing and inclusive. When we all strive to be great, it lifts us all up. You only have to put a call out and people jump at the chance to help. “ He fondly remembers when a couple entered the room to ACDC’s classic Highway to hell. He says he “never did get the meaning behind the choice, but LOVED performing it!”

PANTONE COLOUR OF THE YEAR Every year Pantone release a colour (this year there were two) of the year. You will notice these colours appear in all sorts of ways from fashion to homewares and they have an influence on so many things including wedding trends and fashions. This years choice of Rose Quartz works perfectly for the Floristry Industry. We are blessed with so many pale pink toned flowers. My favourite would have to be the Stock, they are delicately perfumed, a beautifully long lasting flower and so versatile. They are perfect for a pastel bouquet and work well with whites and greens of all sorts of foliage. Other choices may be Carnations, Chrysanthumums, Lisianthus, Veronica, Statice, Hydranga and Sweet William. We will see this trend also influence wedding themes and what more perfect

choice than an abundance of pale pink pillowy Peonies. The softness of the tone sits beautifully with lace and gives a very romantic feeling to any girl’s dream day. With pastel and other soft colours trending for the bridal parties this season, Rose Quartz has already started appearing as a popular choice for the maids. This colour is so versatile and can work with almost anything. Styled rustic, tradtional, or classic glamour - it will hit the mark. Its also a fantastic colour for most complexions. Explore the beautiful world of Rose Quartz, whether it be an accessory for your home, yourself or in the next arrangement of flowers you give. Take your que from this years Pantone colour of the Year. By Nicole - Simply Stems Boutique Florist

WHY THE LEFT...? It is customary for the Bride to stand to the left of her groom. Funnily enough in ancient times - the groom needed to keep his sword fighting hand free to be sure to protect his bride from any other suitors who may try to sweep her away. In more modern times, Couples are trending away from this and opting for whatever feels comfortable to them!
