Classes Offer Fun, Creative Outlet
At the conservatory, we cultivate individual attention, ignite creativity and inspire confidence through arts education. The arts play a vital role in helping individuals develop selfesteem, compassion and problemsolving skills. This last year reminded us that the arts are a necessity and are important to our well-being.
For Meghan Montaner, president of the conservatory and the theatre’s education division, this was most evident in our students. Seeing them back in the studios and thriving again after months of remote classes made that clear. “Hearing our students’ comments, it is clear that doing something active and creative every day changes their perspective for the better” says Montaner. “Having a creative outlet is vital to their physical and mental health.” With yearly classes in music, drama, dance and technical theatre for students of all ages, there is something for everyone at the conservatory. “We’re really about process over product and ensuring that students truly understand art form that is the performance, whether it be through dance, music, drama or technical theatre. I think that’s one of the guiding principles that sets us apart,” Montaner adds.
