Middle School Splash Carnival Salisbury Swimming Centre Wednesday 15th February 2012 Dear Parent\Caregiver This is an official school function, and all are therefore expected to attend and encouraged to participate in a range of fun and competitive 50m events, depending on their swimming ability. A series of fully supervised Novelty Events are also conducted on the day. Parents are welcome to attend for all or part of the day and staff would welcome the opportunity to meet informally with you on that day. The cost per student will be $12.00 to cover bus and entry. Students will be required to attend homegroup at 8.40 as usual and will be departing at 9am, arriving back to school at 3pm. Shade is plentiful at the pool, however it is important that students are fully prepared for UV exposure. REMEMBER – SLIP SLOP SLAP. The school will provide additional sunscreen. A kiosk is available and students will have controlled access to it throughout the day. Students may wear white T-shirts whilst in the pool, but black and coloured shirts are not permitted as these can cause problems for chlorine levels in the water. Wednesday promises to be an enjoyable, fun-filled day with students participating in activities and socialising in a different learning environment. Performances at this Splash Carnival will be used as a guide to select students for both Vista and State Swimming Squads, competing later this term. Uniform is not necessary on the day, but students should come to school with : • • • • • •
