GS 1 naked Leadership Neil Jacobsohn, Joint CEO, FutureWorld South Africa, and Partner, FutureWorld International (South Africa) Neil Jacobsohn is a life-long communicator with a passion for the future. He is an award-winning journalist, digital entrepreneur, company director, and professional marketer. In a career spanning nearly 40 years, Jacobsohn has reported news from around the world for a wide range of newspapers and magazines; edited newspapers; managed operations for a broad-based media group; served as group marketing director of a listed media company; run a US $40 million AIDS campaign for a national government; and launched more than 14 businesses. He has served as chairman, executive and non-executive director on a number of listed and unlisted company boards.

Zecher, President, CEO, and Director, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (USA) Richard Chambers has 35 years of internal audit, accounting, and financial management leadership experience, including a long career in public-sector internal auditing with the U.S. General Accounting Office (now the Government Accountability Office). His public service tenure includes chief audit executive positions at three of the U.S. government’s largest organizations. Chambers also served as vice president of The IIA’s Learning Center and national practice leader in Internal Audit Advisory Services for PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mark Carawan joined Citigroup in August 2011 as Citigroup chief auditor and managing director responsible for the audit and risk review department. Prior to joining Citi, he was the chief internal auditor for Barclays Group; managing partner responsible for enterprise-wide assurance to wholesale financial services institutions at Deloitte (UK); and managing partner for Andersen’s global privatization and emerging markets practice.

Rebecca Rhoads has more than 31 years of experience within the defense industry. She began her career as an electrical engineer with General Dynamics and later held various assignments of increasing responsibility at General Dynamics, Hughes, and Raytheon. Rhoads currently serves on the Aerospace Industries Association e-Business Executive Steering Group, CIO Editorial Advisory Board, IBM Board of Advisors, Advisory Council for the CIO Center for Leadership, and the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council.

Linda Zecher joined Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in September 2011. Previously, she served as corporate vice president of Microsoft’s US $8 billion worldwide public sector organization, where she led a team of nearly 2,000 sales and marketing professionals serving government, education and healthcare customers in more than 100 countries. Prior to joining Microsoft in 2003, Zecher held leadership positions with Texas Instruments, Bank of America, PeopleSoft, Oracle and Evolve Corp.

GS 3 CORPORATE GOVERNANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT IN THE 21ST CENTURY: A BUSINESS LEADER’S PERSPECTIVE Douglas L. Peterson, President, Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services (USA) Douglas Peterson is president of Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services, the leading credit rating company and division of the McGraw-Hill Companies. Previously, Peterson was the chief operating officer of Citibank, N.A., Citigroup’s principal banking entity that operates in over 100 countries. He was with Citigroup for 25 years. Until the beginning of 2010, he was the CEO of Citigroup, Japan, where he oversaw the entire franchise covering Capital Markets, Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Transaction Services and Retail Banking, managing over 15,000 employees. Peterson was previously Chief Auditor of Citigroup from 2001 to 2004 where he had led the enterprise-wide integration of the internal audit teams after the merger of Citicorp and Travelers.

GS 4 Making the Toughest Decisions Joseph L. Badaracco, John Shad Professor of Business Ethics, Harvard Business School (USA) Joseph Badaracco serves on the Faculty Committee of the Harvard Center for Ethics and the Professions and is the faculty chair of the Nomura School of Advanced Management in Tokyo. Recently, he served as chair of the MBA Program and on the boards of two public companies. Badaracco has taught in executive programs in the United States, Japan, and many other countries. He has written several books that have been translated into 10 languages, including Defining Moments: When Managers Must Choose between Right and Right; Leading Quietly: An Unorthodox Guide to Doing the Right Thing; and Questions of Character.

GS 5 Internal Audit: Ensuring Mission Success Donald McMonagle, Program Director, NASA and Range Systems, Raytheon Technical Services Co. (USA) Donald McMonagle previously served as vice president of Quality and Mission Effectiveness and vice president of NASA Programs with Raytheon’s Missile Systems business unit in Tucson, Ariz. He is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, and he served as an instructor pilot, test pilot, NASA astronaut, and program manager. McMonagle flew on three space shuttle missions, culminating in STS-66, for which he was the shuttle commander. He completed his career in government service as a NASA senior executive, where he was responsible for managing space shuttle launch integration at the Kennedy Space Center.

(USA) Cindy Solomon is an internationally recognized speaker, consultant, facilitator, and author.
