Instructors Program Director Paul S. Petrungaro DDS, MS, FICD, FACD, DICOI, is internationally recognized for his educational and clinical contributions to modern dentistry. He graduated from Loyola University Dental School in 1986, where he completed an independent study of Periodontics at the Welsh National Dental School in Wales, U.K. He completed his residency in Periodontics and has a specialty certificate in addition to a Masters of Science degree in Periodontics from Northwestern University Dental School. He is the former Coordinator of Implantology, Graduate Department of Periodontics, Northwestern University Dental School. Dr. Petrungaro has been in the private practice of Periodontics and Implantology since 1988, and holds a license in Illinois, Minnesota, and Washington. He is a fellow of the International & American College of Dentists, and a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Petrungaro is recognized around the world for his diversified seminars and lectures on advanced periodontal, prosthetic and implant interrelationships, bone regeneration and aesthetic tissue formation, the use of transitional implants, immediate restoration of dental implants and the use of platelet rich plasma in bone grafting throughout the U.S., Europe, Canada, Australia, South America, and Israel. In addition, he has authored numerous articles covering subjects such as cosmetic bone grafting and aesthetic implant procedures. Dr. Petrungaro continuously contributes to many new innovations in multiple disciplines of surgical dentistry.

Adjunct Faculty Joon H. Han DDS, MS, FICOI is a Board Eligible Prosthodontist. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and later completed a Masters degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Chicago, 2002. In 2004, he graduated from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Han completed three years of post-graduate dental specialty education in Prosthodontics at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, 2007. During his residency, Dr. Han presented his case studies at the Nobel Biocare World Conference in 2005, at the International Congress of Oral Implantology in 2007 and at the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics in 2007.

Raymond A. Hellickson DDS, is the only Minnesota dentist with active membership in The American Academy of Restorative Dentistry. An enduring commitment to excellence and leadership in dentistry has made Dr. Hellickson a sought-after speaker and instructor, and he frequently receives referrals from doctors locally and nationally. He is a founding member of the Minnesota Academy of Gnathological Research, and houses within in his practice one of only two Centers for Dental Medicine in Minnesota. He is highly trained in the planning, surgical and prosthetic aspects of dentistry, and continually strives to master both the art and science of dentistry for his patients’ benefit.


Instructors William Locante DDS, DABOI is a nationally renowned implant dentist with a primary practice in dental implantology. He graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in Dental Surgery. Dr. Locante is board certified as an implant dentist by the American Board of Oral Implantology and has been named a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, he is a fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and is past president of the Southern District of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). Dr. Locante has also served on clinical advisory boards for major dental implant companies, helped develop new techniques and dental implants, and performed extensive research in bone cell and bio protein healing mechanisms. Jason M. Petrungaro, MD is an assistant professor of surgery in the plastic surgery division of the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He specializes in all aspects of reconstructive and aesthetic surgeries as well as surgeries of the hand and forearm. He is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and he serves as Chief of Plastic Hand Surgery at both Baylor College of Medicine and at Ben Taub General Hospital. After graduating with honors from the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Petrungaro earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He then completed his general surgery residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, followed by a Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, N.Y., and his plastic surgery residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.

Jennifer T. Silc DDS, MS received her BS in Zoology from Michigan State University, DDS from Marquette University and MS in Periodontics from the University of Michigan. She is a Diplomate in the American Board of Periodontology as well as the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and is a clinical assistant professor at Temple University. Dr. Silc has done research on dental implant design and published numerous articles in the field of implant dentistry. Her memberships include the Academy of Osseointegration, Illinois State Dental Society, Michigan Dental Association, Northwest Suburban Chicago Dental Society, American Dental Association and the American Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Silc specializes in all aspects of periodontics and implant dentistry with an emphasis on cosmetic procedures.

Rod Strickland DDS, grew up in Albany, Georgia, but he moved to Indiana when his father was transferred. He attended high school there and then studied molecular biology at Indiana University. As an undergraduate, he also participated in molecular genetics research, resulting in a co-authored publication in the prestigious journal, SCIENCE. He was granted early acceptance into Indiana University School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Dr. Strickland is the inventor of the "Facelift Denture™" procedure. He not only performs this procedure for patients, he trains dentists from around the world in how to perform it.
