Ontario Secondary School Diploma or successful completion of the mature student assessment or appropriate credits from Academic and Career Entrance.

Anatomy & Physiology II HS225 Safety & Crisis Intervention CD230

This course is the second part of a two part anatomy and physiology course designed for students enrolled in the Practical Nursing Program. It is a continuation of the structures and physiology that make up the human body. It will complete the study of the body in preparation for the study of pathophysiology and patient care procedures. May 2 - June 17 (7 Week Compressed Course) 6 Hours a week days TBA (EST) Delivery Method: Online Learning Synchronous In this course, students will examine crisis intervention for individuals living with addiction and mental health problems. The indicators of suicide, self harm, and violence will be explored in relation to risk assessment and management strategies. Students will examine safety planning, risk management practices, and nonviolent crisis intervention to respond to situations that may arise when working with clients. May 9 - June 17 7 Week Compressed Course Delivery Method: Online Learning Asynchronous

Motivational Interviewing AD101

Motivational interviewing is a client-centered, collaborative conversation style for strengthening a person's own motivation to change. This course will examine the foundational principles and practices of motivational interviewing in addictions and mental health. Students will learn how to apply the values, processes and skills of this approach to promote client behaviour change for individuals with a mental illness and/ or addiction. May 9 - June 17

‘ 7 Week Compressed Course Delivery Method: Online Learning Asynchronous

Social Welfare SS116

In this course, students will examine historical development and current political and ideological influences on the social welfare system in Canada. This course also examines contemporary challenges being experienced by Canadians living within the social welfare system and role of the professions of Social Work and Social Service Work in assisting with addressing those challenges. May 10 - June 9 (5 Week Compressed Course) Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Times are EST. Delivery Method: Online Learning Synchronous

Synchronous/Asynchronous

Synchronous classes run in real time, with students and instructors attending together from different locations. Asynchronous courses are available 24/7 on a computer and students follow a course schedule. There are no live lectures scheduled for asynchronous courses. Students connect with facilitators by email and discussion boards.
