History:

In March of 1978, Angelo Zimbardo, along with his mother, left their hometown in Sicily, Italy, Carini, with the intention of visiting his uncle. He was unaware that this trip would completely change the course of his life. Upon arriving to America, he immediately knew it was where he wanted to be, even at the young age of 14. Angelo did not return to Italy with his mother, but instead stayed with his uncle to learn all about the pizza trade. Angelo worked with his uncle for about 12 years before he decided that opening his own restaurant was the next step in his pizza industry career. Angelo’s Italian Restaurant opened its doors in March of 1990. Angelo’s has consistently served the Midlothian community authentic Italian cuisine for over 30 years. It is with the continued support of his wife Josephine, along with his daughters Silvana Rose and Adriana Maria that Angelo’s has thrived. Angelo stated that the restaurant would not be the same without his family and that they all work extremely hard to make Angelo’s the best it can be. Angelo also described himself as “the luckiest man in the world” to have the staff he has, having worked with some employees for 15 and 20 years. What do you enjoy most about owning a restaurant?

Angelo loves seeing his customers smile. He enjoys making people happy through good, fresh food.

What sets your restaurant apart from the competition?

Aside from the fresh sauces, bread and high quality food served, Angelo believes the personality of the restaurant truly sets them apart. Everybody feels at home when they walk through the door. Angelo likes to talk to every customer as if they are family. He also believes in going the extra mile. There have even been times when Angelo has fulfilled orders for hungry customers after closing. People do not forget those types of actions.
