Introduction Hello mortal... I see you’ve picked up our art book.... Wise choice.... During the production of this game, which took eight weeks, some of the students who worked on this game made awesome art works. The concept of this game was based on the crazy mind of Sai. Which is awesome, but also scary. And with the help of about 20 talented students from all over the world.... the game was ALMOST finished in 8 weeks.

We’re proud to present “the art of the Nightmare”. Which shows you the beautiful artwork made to make the view and mood of our game clear. These artworks were made by the following people: Anthonie Duinker Dion Janischka Marie Kumpulainen Sven Lobnig Roope Reimi Sandra Yuen

This art book was compiled by Marie Kumpulainen, Ilse Meijer and Sandraa Yuen.

The Nightmare Scary, clever, and totally psychotic, those are the traits of the shadowy psychopath who kills his victims by sending them into their worst nightmares (hence the game title) which results in the suicide of the victims themselves. I began researching the topic, the theme and the time wherein the games is set, the fashion of the 1950s and found out that a nice suit or trench coat would fit pretty well into the time. It also became apparent that every man in the 1950s wore a hat to his suit. I created a trenchcoat, combined it with a doctor’s coat and added some traits of a strait jacket to it to underline his psychological state. Some black trousers and fancy shoes to make it perfect. Additionally I looked at the backstory of the character and adapted it a bit. I came up with the fact that he could have been a German scientist which immigrated into the United States. I gave him blond hair and blue eyes to fit with the story. Also his face shouldn’t be seen and we came up with the idea that he could wear a mask to hide it. I came up with some ideas for mask designs but in the end we agreed that a plain white mask would be much more terrifying than some crazy shapes.

The Journalist

9

Fiance Abigail Moore was the main character’s fiance, but she got kidnapped by the Nightmare and ended up committing suicide. Her death still haunts the main character (the journalist) and he still blames himself for it. The Fiance you see in the game is only a projection of her and how he remembers her.
