Additionally, through the fear of the pandemic and the anxiety of the supply chain issues, we never lost sight of how hard the pandemic hit worldwide conservation efforts. From the onset of the pandemic to the end of 2021, thanks to you, our partners in conservation, Wildlife Artists raised and donated over US $100,000 towards conservation and continued to provide vital support to our rural African partners and their communities.

In July 2018, following over four decades of Thinking Bigger and Treading Lightly™, we introduced Eco Pals®, the first of its kind holistically eco conscious plush. At the time, we hoped to be a “catalyst for positive, sustainable change” and welcomed others to follow our lead. And follow our lead they have…not only here in North America, but also internationally. Plush companies all over the world are following in our steps to become more eco conscious, and while other lines are not as holistically eco, every step matters.
But we are more than a brand…we are genuine about our conservation initiatives.
Beyond the global impact of Eco Pals, we have:
• Eliminated all inner carton plastic bags as even biodegradable bags are still plastic that degrade to microscopic plastic which contaminates our oceans and the creatures that inhabited them.
• Eliminated or replaced virgin plastic wherever possible across all aspect of our business.

And, another industry first, in 2019, we eliminated all inner plastic bags & microplastics (including plastic taggers) because there’s nothing eco about them. These single-use plastics, even the biodegradable ones, don’t degrade once they are buried in a landfill or floating in the ocean and still pose a grave threat to the environment.
We won’t use glitter, sequins or any other trending plastics as we choose planet over plastic…authentically, every time.
Eliminating plastic is absolutely critical to conservation and we’re doing it everywhere we can.

In 2018, we transitioned all our plush to sustainable fill made only from recycled PET bottles, the first company to do so.
In only six decades, the mass production of plastic has created more than 7 tons of waste. Alarmingly, only 9% of that plastic waste has been recycled.
In 2014, we eliminated plastic beans because these microplastics end up in waterways and oceans, killing hundreds of thousands of marine organisms every year. We are still the only company to eliminate these unnecessary microplastics.

In 2013, we first eliminated plastic whiskers from all of our plush.
We’re on a mission to transform our industry and this is how we’ve gotten started:
That means that more than 5 billion tons of bags, bottles and other single-use plastics have rapidly accumulated in landfills that just can’t handle the sheer amount of waste. So, much of this plastic ends up flowing into the ocean where it suffocates, starves and drowns marine life. Scientists predict that by 2050 could contain more plastic waste than fish.

This design is very close to our heart both due to its purpose and because it exemplifies the workmanship and dedication of Mulberry Mongoose. Designed after seeing Eye of the Pangolin by Bruce Young & Yohan Vermeulen it really was no easy creation. It took many attempts to create entirely from snare wire that connected to the unique quality of the Pangolin. Each piece takes 3 hours to create by hand and is so physical that Mulberry Mongoose works to a one day on, one day off rule when making it. Every sale donates to both anti-snare patrols and the Pangolin Crisis Fund. Wearing it connects you with very special like-minded souls and our workshop and team in the South Luangwa National Park.
