URQUHART & HUNT LANDSCAPE, DESIGN & ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION

Urquhart & Hunt is a landscape design practice dedicated to nature, with a focus on habitat creation and ecological restoration. As first-time exhibitors at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2022, they won a gold medal and Best in Show for their depiction of ‘A Rewilding Britain Landscape’, which showcased a native landscape in the process of rewilding through the introduction of beavers, a keystone species being reintroduced across the UK.

The practice also specialises in contemporary restorations of older gardens and their wider landscapes, bringing nature into the gardens as part of an ongoing endeavour to make our gardens more ecologically rich. Focusing on organic principles, they use native plants wherever possible to increase biodiversity and natural habitat health, whilst their sensitivity to cultural history and craft brings the much-needed human dimension into the landscape.
