AIRWRAP Mesh has been keeping babies happy and safe for more than 8 years and is one of Australia’s most trusted and popular nursery bedding items. It supersedes traditional cot bumpers with its breathable mesh fabric allowing maximum airflow, while protecting baby from knocks and tangling in the framework of the cot. The thin collapsible fabric of the AIRWRAP Mesh ensures that it cannot be used as leverage to climb from the cot. The AIRWRAP fits most cots including larger brands.

BUMPER TIE FREE

Bumper ties have been linked with SIDS and fatal sleep accidents (SUDI) for decades. Ties can pose a strangulation risk for infants. Bumper ties are sewn in fixed positions, with 1000’s of cot/crib/cot bed varieties the ties will not always end up accurately aligned to slats for fixing. This promotes poorly fitted bumpers and further increases the risk of suffocation and entanglement.

BREATHABLE

The use of slimline, firm and breathable materials mean AIRWRAP™ eliminates the suffocation risk posed by standard soft-pillowy cot/crib bumpers linked to SIDS and fatal sleep accidents (SUDI).

MAXIMISE AIRFLOW

* cotton AIRWRAP design

AIRWRAP™ outperformed a full coverage traditional crib bumper and a full coverage breathable padded crib liner in airflow. Findings reviewed and confirmed by Dr. Fox and Dr. Shaffer, world recognised paediatric respiratory experts.

AIRFLOW TESTED FOR CO2 DISPERSION Airflow is important to prevent the pooling of ‘bad air’ linked to SIDS and fatal sleep accidents (SUDI). This can be in the form of rebreathing exhaled CO2 or pooling of other commonly emitted household gases. Carbon dioxide rebreathing increases respiratory effort. Rebreathing of exhaled air is one proposed mechanism for the increased risk for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) 1 among prone sleeping infants. Vented corners, breathable fabric and a slimline, firm design significantly maximise airflow. Vented corners mean that fresh air is able to flow more freely in, around and through cots & cribs comparative to standard bumpers and even other fully enclosed breathable versions. J Pediatrics 1993; 122:874-880.
