ABOUT: COCO, THE BOOKEND. Lack of reading is a problem in Mexico, and that is why COCO is here for. It is a bookend that represents the appetite for reading, motivating children to read. Due to its shape, books are placed inside its “mouth” so kids could see how much they have “eaten” The project was developed for a mexican library in collaboration with the well known mexican designer Ariel Rojo during a workshop at the University. The final product was presented during “Abierto Mexicano de Diseño” a mexican design fair. For the second phase a complete collection was delveloped, including different animals and colours. The original character, “Coco” was modified and detailed.

Everyone who loves ceramic objects
ABOUT: CERAMICS With the idea of “capturing a moment forever I started experimenting with clay and some finishes to design a collection that reflects this concept. The result was some functional and simple pieces that are finished with the bubbles`glaze. This technique consists in blowing air bubbles in the glaze to create amazing and quite unique patters on the surfaces. The absence of glaze in a large portion of my pieces allow me to focus on the qualities of the materials and the bubble textures.

ABOUT: KIT TO PREPARE HOT CHOCOLATE Mexico has many traditions but one important is to prepare hot chocolate for sharing with family and friends. For preparing hot chocolate, we use a turned-wood whisk named: Molinillo, its main function is to create the froth in the drink. It is also functional for mixing the milk with the chocolate bar. Molinillo is placed between the palms and then rotated to create the movement. In this project the objective was to transform this tradition into a contemporary product for the specific target and thinking about the company aesthetics. This project was made in collaboration with Abril Casillas and Iliana Campa as a university project.
