There’s no better way to meet new people and feel part of the community than joining a social group. Here are just a few of the English-speaking groups offering activities in our region!

Found all over France, the Association France-Grande Bretagne has a Cahors/Quercy section (46). In addition to a lending library and language ateliers, it plans cultural outings and bilingual events. www.fgbquercy.com

Meet others and appreciate and adapt into local life and culture with the Bordeaux Women’s Club (33). Aimed at helping women to find their place, feel at home and connect with other international women, it holds a wide range of regular activities.

The International Club of Bordeaux (33) is a vibrant group of men, women and children seeking to cultivate and promote friendships whilst easing integration into the French life. Activities are social, ultural, educational and fun, with something for everyone, including families.

Leggies is a social group for women of all ages and nationalities. Meeting at Sainte Livrade Sur Lot (47), it runs a variety of events including talks, demonstrations, coffee mornings and outings to local artisans and other interesting places.

The Dordogne Ladies Club International (24) meets in Bergerac and promotes contact and international friendships through social gatherings, excursions and other promotions and activities, as well as charitable fundraising.

Eymet (24) is home to the Association Culturelle Franco-Anglaise d’Aquitaine (ACFAA). Aimed at developing rapport between the French, British and other European residents, it provides joint cultural and social activities including language and activity groups.

As a multinational group with a diverse range of activities and special interest programmes, the Toulouse Women’s International Group (31), or TWIG as it is known, provides a TWIG Ambassador to help new members. A Help service is also available for existing members.

Sharing interests and offering aid when needed, it helps its members to make the most of life in Gascony with social contact, information and a host of different events.

Based in Montaigu de Quercy, the Club International de Quercy (82) creates a bridge between local inhabitants and new arrivals by holding language and cultural workshops, sports and recreational activities, alongside visits and social gatherings.
