Why the Arts?

welcome, fine arts

enthusiasts!

We are so excited to be back, and we’re sure you are too! With all the excitement of returning to school, apprehension is still in the air. There are many changes going on all around us. As Lovett parents, our camaraderie is strong and continues to get stronger!

With over 90 percent of our Lovett students participating in the Fine Arts programs throughout the school year, your support of the Fine Arts is essential more than ever now. It’s only a matter of time before we will be able to watch our children performing live once again. As Friends of the Arts, we cultivate, sustain and support our Lovett Fine Arts students and faculty. With the help of parents and volunteers, FOTA raises money to fund grants for the Fine Arts students and faculty at Lovett. Last year, FOTA raised over $40,000 in funds for the Fine Arts Department. These funds provided dance class lockers, sound systems, printmaking supplies and equipment, photography class supplies, and more. The funds that FOTA raises each year also help provide scholarships for applied lessons and programs, as well as ensuring our Lovett Fine Arts Department is the most updated and well-equipped facility in the state of Georgia.

We encourage all of the parents at Lovett to become involved in FOTA and to become members for the 2021-22 school year. Help FOTA pave the way for your future actor, artist, band member, dancer, filmmaker, orchestra member, photographer, printmaker, sculptor or singer. We look forward to getting to know you, and please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have.
