10 HABITS TO KEEP FROM QUARANTINE

Full quarantine may be over but that doesn’t mean the pandemic is. Coronavirus forced us to make some changes at the end of the Spring semester, and now with their being another spike in cases here in Louisiana it is important to stay safe. Even though the quarantine was rough, there are some good habits that we should think about keeping in the future.

Here’s 10 habits that should be kept from quarantine to ensure a healthy and happy fall semester.

1. Wearing a face mask #MaskUpLSU and continue to protect yourself and those around you.

If you’re going to run a quick errand or to a full day of classes, make sure to remember to wear your face mask. It’s important that everyone does their part to keep campus as safe as possible this fall, and wearing a mask is a big part of that.

2. Pay attention to your physical and mental health

This situation is new for everyone, and a regular semester is already stressful enough without the new fears and anxiety of the pandemic adding to it. Make sure you listen to your body and pay close attention to your health. It’s normal to be worried and stressed during this time, so do things like go outside for some fresh air to take a break. Journaling, jogging and cooking are just some examples of more things you could do to de-stress.

3. Exercise Regularly

A huge part of staying physically healthy is exercising. Whether you’ve been running outside or following workout videos at home, it’s a healthy habitat you should keep even when we start regularly going back to work and school.

4. Check up on your friends & family regularly

During quarantine we made it a priority to check up on friends and family. This should be a habit we try to keep with quarantine still being something we have to do. A lot of people are coming back from home in a different state or even country, so staying in touch with loved ones by texting, calling and face-timing is a good way to feel less homesick and more connected.

5. Take breaks from technology

With everything going on in the world right now, it’s safe to say we’ve been experiencing information overload to the extreme this year. Even though it’s important to stay informed on the current political and social issues, it can be extremely draining and hard to take in 24/7. Consider taking more breaks from social media to clear your head and take some time for yourself.

6. Make time for yourself

College comes with a busy schedule, and it’s easy to forget to take a break. Make sure to find time to relax and have fun safely even under the circumstances.

7. Continue to try new things

Quarantine boredom came with the inspiration to try many new things. Continue to push yourself and go a little out of your comfort zone moving forward, you never know what opportunities could come from doing so.

8. Save up & plan for the future

Even with the occasional packages being delivered during quarantine, for the most part it was a lot easier to save up while inside. Though things are still uncertain, planning financially and setting goals is always a good idea. on in the world Along with the pandemic, there’s a lot of social and political issues going on in the world right now. It’s important to stay informed and to make the best educated decisions that you can.

The world is a scary place right now, but it’s important to try to be positive and acknowledge the little things that we might normally take for granted. With everything going on there is still progress being made and that’s a good thing.
