Ankleshwar Industrial Expo 2024: Fostering growth, forging partnerships ndia's chemical and petrochemical industry, which plays a significant role in the economic development of the country is the 6thlargest in the world and the 3rdlargest in Asia. Gujarat is considered to be a hub of India's chemical industry accounting for 41 per cent and 35 per cent share in the domestic production and the industry’s exports, respectively. Gujarat has a turnover of $31.5 billion in chemical industry, which the largest contributor to the state’s industrial output with more than 24 per cent share. The centres of the chemical industry located in Gujarat are Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Ankleshwar, Bharuch etc. Against this backdrop, the 14th Ankleshwar Industrial Expo 2024 (AIE 2024) will be organised from January 1820. The expo, organised by Ankleshwar Industries Association (AIA) and Ad's Pages Pvt Ltd, is supported by all the nearby industrial associations and Government of India.

anking on the industrial boom and investors’ confidence, Gujarat is targeting to increase its contribution to India’s GDP from the present 8.3 per cent to 10 per cent in the next three years. “Gujarat is aiming to become a Rs 500 billion economy and contribute 10 per cent to India's GDP by 202627,” said Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat Chief Minister, during the tenth Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS), which was held from January 1012, 2024. With 5 per cent of the population, Gujarat contributes over 8.3 per cent to the national GDP. In 2022 23, the state accounted for a remarkable 33 per cent of India's total merchandise exports establishing itself as an economic powerhouse of the country. Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Gandhi Nagar, VGGS 2024 drew the attention of heads of states and top CEOs, all expressing optimism about India's growth trajectory, particularly under the progressive governance of states like Gujarat. The theme of this year’s summit was ‘Gateway to the Future’ and witnessed the participation of 34 partner countries and 16 partner organisations. The summit showcased Gujarat's futuristic projects and investments (DREAM City, GIFT City, Dholera SIR, AhmedabadMumbai HighSpeed Rail), encompassing emerging sectors such as semiconductors, renewable energy, electric vehicles, green hydrogen, aerospace and defence, plugandplay parks, artificial intelligence, smart greenfield cities to name a few. New opportunities are constantly being created for investment in all these sectors. On the first day of the summit itself top business leaders pledged investments in excess of $ 62 billion (5 Rs 5 lakh crore) in the state. While Tata Group disclosed plans to establish a significant semiconductor fabrication unit in Gujarat's Dholera, Adani Group committed a whopping Rs 2 trillion ($24 billion) to boost green energy initiatives in Gujarat, adding to the flurry of multibillion pledges made at the event. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki, Simmtech, and DP World revealed their respective

investment plans, highlighting Gujarat's growing stature as an investment hub. Investors’ magnet The state's industrial landscape and robust infrastructure are enticing electric vehicle (EV) companies to set up manufacturing in Gujarat – already home to a slew of EV manufacturers. At Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024, Maruti Suzuki India announced the plan to invest Rs 35,000 crore to set up its second manufacturing facility in Gujarat doubling the group's annual production capacity in Gujarat to two million units (1 million units at Suzuki Motor Gujarat and one million units at the second new plant).Besides, Japan's Suzuki Group is sharpening its focus on India's electric vehicle (EV) market with an invest of Rs 3200 crore in Suzuki Motor Gujarat to add the 4th production line. Tata Motors, India's leading manufacturer of electric vehicles, is expanding the footprint in Sanand (Gujarat) with additional capacity to meet the growing demands of electric vehicles. The group is about to launch the building of a huge giga factory for 20 GWs of lithiumion batteries in Sanand, the project should start construction in the next couple of months.Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran also revealed plans to build a large semiconductor fabrication facility (fab) in Gujarat's Dholera, which is expected to commence
operations in 2024. Gensol Engineering, a prominent player in the sustainable energy sector, is also planning to invest Rs 2,000 crore to set up an electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Gujarat. As part of its sustainable growth strategy, the Adani Group plans to invest over Rs two lakh crore in Gujarat – that is $ 25 billion – in the next five years. The group is constructing the world's largest green energy park in Khavda, Kutch, generating 30 GW of renewable energy over 725 square kilometres, even visible from space. Adani Group is also expanding the green supply chain for an "Atmanirbhar" Bharat and creating the largest integrated renewable energy ecosystem. This includes solar panels, wind turbines, hydrogen electrolysers, green ammonia, PVC, and expansions in copper and cement production. At VGGS 2024, Reliance Industries shared its plans to establish India's first worldclass carbon fibre facility at Hazira in Gujarat. The facility aligns with Reliance's commitment to green growth and contributing to Gujarat's goal of meeting half of its energy needs through renewables by 2030. Similarly, Essar Group is setting up a 1 gigawatt green hydrogen project (1,000 megawatt) in Gujarat's Jamnagar, besides expanding its ports and power businesses

The company will set up operations to support Micron's semiconductor plant in Gujarat, which is under construction at present. Global logistics firm DP World revealed plans to build a container terminal in Gujarat, showcasing commitment to further investments in India. The company emphasised continued support for manufacturing industries to enhance the global competitiveness of Indian goods. Gujarat at 2047 At Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, Gujarat took a historic stride as the first state in India to introduce a comprehensive roadmap "Viksit Gujarat@2047" aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a "Viksit Bharat@2047”. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel showcased a detailed timeline outlining the industrial, economic, and social development of Gujarat until 2047. The ambitious goals set for "Viksit Gujarat@2047" include achieving a Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of $ 3.5 trillion, elevating the per capita annual income to $ 38,000 to $ 40,000, and aiming for net zero emissions by 2047. As industry giants unveiled transformative investment plans during VGGS 2024, Gujarat is all set to become a catalyst for monumental projects, promising economic growth and job creation. With every corner of India presenting new possibilities for investors, Vibrant Gujarat Summit provided a gateway to the future growth.

Gujarat galvanising growth through emerging industries With Gujarat eyeing to become a $500 billion economy by 2026-27, the state is concentrating on sectors that not only define the current economic landscape, but is also getting ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of emerging sectors like hydrogen, electric vehicles, semiconductors, etc. s the fifthlargest economy and on the cusp of becoming the thirdlargest economy globally, India's next phase of growth would be fuelled by investments in manufacturing, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and large infrastructure projects. And leading the way in these sunrise sectors in the state of Gujarat. While Gujarat has always been a dominate player in traditional sectors such as textiles, chemicals and petrochemicals, gems, jewellery and ceramics, it has also managed to emerge as the hub of automobile manufacturing in the recent years. The state is now looking at strategic development in new and emerging sectors such as semiconductors, green hydrogen, electric vehicles, and renewable energy among othersto drive future growth.
As a state with a favourable policy regime and solid infrastructure base, Gujarat is aiming to be a hub for green energy and its ecosystem and expects around Rs 10 lakh crore worth of investments in this new sector over the next 15 years.

Gujarat: India’s Semicon Valley The increasing reliance on semiconductors (chips) has become the bedrock of global technological advancements across industries, from computing and communication to healthcare. Thus, the government's aim to make India a global hub for semiconductors will be a huge economic driver for the country's future, says experts. To bag a share of the global semiconductor pie, India is trying to attract major semiconductor players to set up chip fabrication and assembling plants in the country with a $10 billion subsidy programme. Taking the lead in semiconductor production is Gujarat, which became the first Indian state to introduce its semiconductor policy in 2022. This policy was framed with an aim to play a significant role in the global realignment of supply chains in the strategic sector and raise India's economic position. In July 2022, Gujarat announced a dedicated policy to draw new investments in the semiconductor sector by offering incentives and subsidies to start operations in the state. The policy has been designed in line with the Centre's 'India Semiconductor Mission' to attract and facilitate new projects in the sector and meticulously crafted to facilitate and promote manufacturing activities in Gujarat. The semiconductor policy, which will remain in force till 2027, aims to generate over 200,000 employment opportunities in the next

As semiconductor industry is water and energyintensive, these provisionsare also key attraction points. Gujarat's dedicated semiconductor policy bore fruit when in June 2023 the USbased Micron Technology announced investment of $ 2.75 billion in Sanand near Ahmedabad to set up a new semiconductor assembly and testing facility. The company is collaborating with Tata to initiate the phased construction of the new facility, marking a notable stride in India's technological landscape. The first phase of Micron’s new facility in Gujarat is expected to be operational by early 2025. The investment is helping initiate a cluster of semiconductor investment, building momentum that is benefiting India. For example, Simmtech, a leading supplier to Micron, is planning to set up a unit in Sanand to support Micron. Several companies from Japan and South Korea have shown their interest in the R&D, assembly testing, packaging, and the manufacturing of critical components which are valuable for the semiconductor industry along with developing
engineering/technology centres. Tata Group is also getting ready to build a semiconductor factory at DholeraSemicon City. Fuelling hydrogen demand The impact of economic development has resulted in tremendous social development. Gujarat clearly has established itself as the gateway to the future. The state is leading the way in the renewable energy sector including green hydrogen, solar, etc. Under the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC), India has set a target of becoming a netzero emissions country by 2070. The country also aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 45 per cent by 2030 by sourcing 50 per cent of its energy from renewable sources. In the Union Budget 202324, the Centre has allocated Rs 19,744 crore for the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which seeks to promote the development of green hydrogen production capacity of at least 5 MMT (Million Metric Tonnes) per annum, with an associated renewable energy capacity addition of about 125 gigawatts (GW) in the country by 2030. In addition, the policy aims to attract investment of over Rs 8 lakh crore and create over 6 lakh jobs by 2030. Gujarat has set the ball rolling to become the country’s green hydrogen manufacturing hub and retain its dominance over the industrial sector.
The state has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with several big corporates, including Reliance, Adani, ArcelorMittal and Torrent, which have pledged huge investments in green energy projects and have been allotted land for the same. The Reliance group has committed investments worth Rs 5.6 lakh crore to set up a renewable energy park and a green hydrogen park in Gujarat. Similarly, the Adani group has also made significant commitments, announcing plans to invest more than Rs 4.13 lakh crore over the next 10 years in green hydrogen and associated ecosystems to create a capacity to produce up to 3 million tonnes of green hydrogen annually. Besides, the companies plan to set up factories for solar photovoltaic modules, electrolysers, energy storage batteries and fuel cells, and wind and solar projects. With the state targeting to create a production capacity of 8 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) of green hydrogen by 2035, a huge window of opportunities will open up for process equipment industry in Gujarat. Electrifying EV market Even though a late entrant in the race of becoming India’s sought after automobile hub, Gujarat is clearly taking newer stride when it comes to electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing. In June 2023, Gujarat reported a remarkable 1,475 per cent surge in electric vehicle (EV) sales over the past two years, which can be attributed to the introduction of a new incentive policy. At its current plant in Sanand, Tata Motors manufactures Tiago, Tigor range (includes ICE, CNG and EVs) and XpresT EV Sedan. The acquisition of Ford plant in Sanand will help Tata Motors to make additional 3,00,000 units which can be enhanced to 4,00,000 units. Maruti Suzuki India has invested in electric vehicle and battery
manufacturing in Gujarat, plans to have 15 per cent of its annual car sales coming from electric vehicles and 25 per cent from hybrid vehicles by FY 203031. MG Motors too recently began

Dinesh Plastic Products has developed a ball valve that is chemically resistant to most of aggressive chemicals up to 120°C temperature and economical compared to solid PVDF ball valve and Teflon lined metallic valves. This valve has a solid PVDF body, solid PVDF Ball, PVDF coated (Moulded) SS316 stem, only two flanged ends have inner liners (moulded 3.75mm to 5.5mm thick) of PVDF and on this liners, polypropylene flanged ends are moulded.
