The resolution to build a new recreational sports facility passed by an overwhelming majority of 340 for and 63 against. The number of students who voted on the proposal was only approximately five percent of the total student body. The proposal will now be sent to the UT System Board of Regents for approval before construction can begin.

“This is going to add a lot of social life, said SGA President James Sanders.
“It will offer us a place to congregate and meet. I am sad that we did not get a large number of students to come out and vote on this. It’s an important part of the university. As we continue to become more and more like a traditional university, and as we continue to strive for more excellence, it seems that students would join in and voice their different facility will be approximately 60,000 square feet and will include six racquetball courts, 8,000 square feet of workout/exercise area, a 25-meter enclosed pool, and seating capacity for dents will pay beginning next fall. concerns and awareness to things around them.
