CONTEMPORARY PERFORMANCE IN A CLASSIC SETTING The Met is based in a beautiful Victorian building in Bury town centre. MAIN THEATRE From seated theatre and concerts to dancefloor filled gigs. This brochure will tell you all about The Met. We are a performing arts organisation based in an impressive Victorian building in Bury, just North of Manchester. We aim to present a mix of contemporary and classic theatre, music and comedy sourced regionally and touring nationally and internationally. As a small scale fringe venue, we are able to present new and exciting artists who invariably go on to become household names or - at the very least established artists performing to sell out audiences all over the world. In the past, audiences at The Met have enjoyed a pre-Partridge Steve Coogan, legendary performances by Joy Division, New Order and The Pixies, preElbow Elbow, pre-Hollywood Lee Evans and live music and theatre that leaves people inspired and enriched. With the assistance of our funders and sponsors, we are The Met is run by Bury Metropolitan Arts Association, a company limited by guarantee (No. 2370868) and a registered charity (No. 701879).

By Car from the M60 (about 10 minutes) Take Junction 2 onto the M66. Exit the M66 at signs for Bury and follow the signs for East Lancs Railway. On Angouleme Way (Bury's ring road), turn right at the second traffic lights junction (the Elizabethan Suite is across to your left) into Haymarket Street. By Car from Manchester City Centre (about 20 minutes) Continue South on Deansgate onto Bury New Road (A56). Bury New Road crosses the M60 and becomes Manchester Road (A56) when you pass through Whitefield. Ignore the signs for town centre and turn right on to Knowsley Street. Cross the traffic lights into Haymarket Street.

Exchange of tickets may be possible for other events at The Met. Reservations We will be happy to hold your tickets without payment at the Ticket Office for three days. Three days or less before the performance, tickets must be paid for at the time of booking.

Group Bookings Buy ten tickets for a performance and get an eleventh ticket free. (Subject to availability. Tickets must be purchased in one transaction). Performance Times For events where an on stage time is indicated shows will commence at the time stated. (Check individual ticket for details). Seating The Met offers numbered seating to our customers for most events in the main theatre. You may request a particular seat when you book your tickets according to the seating plan. By Car from the M60 (about 10 minutes) Take Junction 2 onto the M66. Exit the M66 at signs for Bury and follow the signs for East Lancs Railway. On Angouleme Way (Bury's ring road), turn right at the second traffic lights junction (the Elizabethan Suite is across to your left) into Haymarket Street. By Car from Manchester City Centre (about 20 minutes) Continue South on Deansgate onto Bury New Road (A56). Bury New Road crosses the M60 and becomes Manchester Road (A56) when you pass through Whitefield. Ignore the signs for town centre and turn right on to Knowsley Street. Cross the traffic lights into Haymarket Street.
