MIALE TEAM ABOUT TOWN
Summer Movie Nights at the Drive-In
We wrapped up the summer with The Miale Team’s Drive-In Movie Event, a four-week movie extravaganza celebrating our clients and community. Premiering on July 27th, the event ran Monday through Wednesday until August 19th and offered clients the opportunity to enjoy a free night of cinematic fun with a complementary bucket of popcorn, sodas, and a movie of their choice. Guests had the choice to watch films such as The Karate Kid, How to Train Your Dragon, Jaws, The Avengers, The Dark Knight, and more. The event gave guests an opportunity to have a fun and safe night out during the pandemic, while offering younger generations the chance to experience a throwback to the golden age of cinema. We had such an amazing time serving our community and watching so many fun memories being made at the Mansfield Drive-In. We would like to thank the Mansfield Drive-In, as well as our incredible clients and team members for making this event a success. Community involvement is a cornerstone of our team and we strive to give back to our community through various acts of service, sponsorships, and events. Our mission statement is “to empower people: the people we serve, and those we serve with.” We empower our team members to be the change they wish to see in their communities. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, we ran the “Dinner is on Us” pizza delivery campaign with sponsors Jason Kilduff from Ward & Kilduff Mortgage and attorney Tim Geraghty. Our team collectively delivered 1,000 pizzas throughout the community with the support of Joey’s Pizza in West Hartford. As the state continues to reopen, we’re excited to once again participate in local events and safely connect with our community and clients in-person. Stay tuned for more information about our next client event…See you soon!
West Hartford House Tour: Seven Gables
THE MIALE TEAM SPONSORS FUNDRAISER SHOWCASING ONE OF WEST HARTFORD’S FINEST ARCHITECTURAL GEMS
On Sunday, September 27 the public had an exclusive opportunity to tour West Hartford’s own Seven Gables, the magnificent private home at 48 Orchard Road. The house known as Seven Gables is an amazing 8,700 sq. ft. private dwelling situated on six acres overlooking the Hartford skyline.
According to the Noah Webster House, the stately brick home was designed by Ebbets & Frid and built by the Tychsen Brothers in 1931 for Ida Hamilton Roberts and her daughter Louise. The Roberts family moved to West Hartford from Hartford, where they had earned a fortune from the carpet industry in the mid-to-late 19th century. Beginning in 1941, the Guinness family made 48 Orchard Road their home. Rev. George G. Guinness was rector at St. James’ Episcopal Church in West Hartford. His wife, Catherine Monks Spencer Guinness was the heir to the Spencer Turbine fortune. The Guinness family were patrons of the arts and hosted many performers in their lavish home.
On the tour, guests explored the mansion, a bonus carriage house, and the magnificent grounds of the property. Volunteer tour guides provided insights about the architecture of the mansion, the development of Orchard Road, and the Roberts and Guinness families. All proceeds of the fundraiser event benefited the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society.
As a presenting sponsor of the “Seven Gables House Tour,” The Miale Team was proud to support the Noah Webster House and the West Hartford Historical Society, and to help preserve West Hartford’s history and its varied architectural treasures. We thank the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society for having our team assist in this wonderful event!
LaBonne’s Grand Opening in Prospect
On September 26th, LaBonne’s Market held its grand opening celebration of its location in Prospect. The latest of four LaBonne’s Markets, the grocery store boasts a wide selection of specialty goods, including humanely raised meats, fresh seafood, organic produce, sandwiches, craft beer, local products, and more.
The event featured vendors, food trucks, live music, and games for kids. Nicholas Greene and Steven Dreher represented The Miale Team at the event and enjoyed connecting with residents of the Prospect community: “It was an awesome local event ran by Jared Andrews and the Labonne Family. The parking lot was full of local vendors and residents looking to network and offer value to one another. It was such a great turnout for the Prospect community,” said Nicholas. For Nicholas, the event was meaningful because of his personal connection to the location: “Labonne’s Market took over our long-time local grocery store, Oliver’s Supermarket, where I used to work for my first job. It was a nostalgic day seeing old coworkers and residents who still shop at the store. From helping out local residents bag their groceries to helping them buy and sell their home, it has been quite full circle! I enjoyed the conversations I was able to have with people wondering how the market is moving. I’m pretty sure they loved the custom chocolates I had to hand out as well!”
Nicholas looks forward to helping out his community with any real estate needs and is excited to be a part of the The Miale Team’s statewide expansion to New Haven, Middlesex, and Litchfield Counties. We would like to thank the Labonne Family for having our team at their event and we wish the new LaBonne’s Market great success!
