The Family Gallery is a safe space to explore art as a family. Showing work from our collections on a particular theme, it is an introduction to using the Gallery and provides a relaxed space for you to get creative together. Practical activities are provided, but you can always use your own imagination too. For Winter/Spring The Family Gallery will feature:
The National Gallery Masterpiece Tour 2018 Until 22 April We are privileged to be the first venue of 2018 to exhibit Hans Holbein’s A Lady with a Squirrel and a Starling, as the centrepiece in our Family Gallery. Shown alongside are complementary works from our Permanent Collection encompassing key collections themes Portraits and Animals and Birds. School Holiday Workshops All of the school holiday workshops are inspired by the current exhibitions. Take the time to explore the galleries before you go to the workshops, so you take some inspiration with you.

SATURDAY PLAYDATES • Suitable for all ages
• 11am–4pm
Free and drop-in subject to space. Join us every Saturday during the school holidays for practical sessions inspired by the current exhibitions. These are informal sessions, open to all ages, adults welcome too.
New mums, dads and carers join us in our multi-sensory environment. Relax, explore sights, senses, smells and meet other new parents.
Art Start* Sessions for pre-school children 1 year old and upwards with carers. Explore artwork in the Gallery and support your child to be creative. *Sessions are £1.50 per toddler/baby. Book in advance on 01922 654400. Collect your ticket from reception when you have paid.

Celebrate the Gallery’s 18th birthday in February at a special Stargazing Party. Open to all but we especially welcome those turning 18 in 2018. View Vija Celmins’s drawings and prints of night skies in her ARTIST ROOMS exhibition before stargazing on our roof terrace. Street food available. #Wilderness
