Child care professionals indicate that engaging in messy play helps children’s overall development.

The Vegreville and Area Parent Link Centre (PLC) had this in mind when they offered the themed program, Messy Art (Messy Christmas) on December 4.

The youngest participant, 11-month- old Lana Safa seems to be having fun at the PLC Messy Art program.

The children learned how to make messy art Christmas trees, lights, and a big snowman. As with every program, the children received a snack and one of the professionals read the children a messy Christmas art story.

Litania Holyk who is a Community Programmer for PLC said the program teaches children that it is okay to get messy and have fun while they express their creativity.
