Rosanne Fortier News Correspondent
The Vegreville Aquatic and Fitness Centre re-opened the Pool and Dance Studio on September 21.
This re-opening is by appointment only for scheduled activities. No dropin opportunities are allowed at this time due to restrictions from the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The safety protocols that are put in place include mandatory physical distancing in all common areas, daily screening, self-checks, and staggered start and end times.
Mike van der Torre, Manager of Parks, Recreation, and Facilities for Vegreville said Vegreville Aquatic and Fitness Centre re-opened on September 21. “We have all the programs and features on our website where there is also a schedule so people can book their times. The dance studio is open for organizations to rent, we are not open for birthday parties or anything personal. Our pool is open for lane swims, private lessons, and aquafit, and everyone has to call ahead to book their times as well.
We have lots of COVID-19 protocols in place. There is extra cleaning going on, there are arrows that are directing the traffic, there are no people crossing paths, the dressing rooms and change rooms are open with showers access. You go in and shower before and after and then you exit by the hot tub. Lockers are closed so you have to bring out your bags and stuff, and put it on a spot on the floor.”
