STRATHMORE/DELACOUR/GLEICHEN Dear Child and Youth Program Provider:
If your organization offers recreational, sports, arts and/or cultural activities to children and youth, or you know a non‐profit organization that offers these opportunities to children and youth, you will want to know about this great opportunity. United Way’s UpStart recently received funding from the provincial government to run a two‐year pilot project. This initiative lowers the cost to rent school facilities to groups that offer recreational activities for children and youth. RVS Community Booking Agents book schools for community use on behalf of the Rocky View School Division #41. Your group may be eligible to receive a rental rate subsidy. Application criteria are as follows: • The program increases recreation (physical activity, drama, dance, art, music) for children and youth by offering a new activity or by expanding the number of kids that can participate in an existing program. • The program has appropriate adult supervision consistent with the activity. • The program helps children and youth develop skills and confidence. • The program responds to the needs and interests of children living in the community. • The service provider identifies participants willing to take part in a survey or interview to evaluate the results of the program. For more information, or to apply, contact: Rocky View Nikki Goodman 403‐945‐4069 ngoodman@rockyview.ab.ca
