Submission Guidelines

Topics  International Human Rights Law  International Humanitarian Law  Intellectual Property Rights  Trade Policy & Regulations  Trade Secrecy Law  Asia Currency Union  Supra State Entities: EU and Beyond  Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement  Alternative Dispute Resolution  Maritime Law

All manuscripts must be submitted in electronic format only.

The submissions must be e-mailed to vppublications@thenils.org with the subject ‘Submission for NILS Law Review Vol. 1 – Author/s name – Institution’ by September 15, 2014.

All manuscripts submitted shall accompany; 

A covering letter with the Name(s) of the Author(s), Institution/Affiliation, the Title of the manuscript and contact information viz. Email ID and Mobile number.

An undertaking as to the work submitted is genuine and the author is the original owner of the work, and the same is not published anywhere before.

An abstract of not more than 300 words describing the submission.

And any other topics of contemporary and international relevance.

Electronic submissions shall be made in Word Format (.doc)/(.docx) only.

Text and citations should ideally conform to the rules in THE BLUEBOOK: A UNIFORM SYSTEM OF CITATION. The Review employs footnotes as the method of citation.

No biographical information or references, including the name(s) of the author (s), affiliation(s) and acknowledgements should be included in the text of the manuscript, file name or document properties. All such information may be incorporated in the covering letter accompanying the manuscripts.

The main text of the paper should be in font size 12, Times New Roman, 1.5 line spacing and footnotes in font size 10, Times New Roman, 1.0 line spacing. Legal maxims should be in italics.

Peer Review Process Preliminary Screening: New manuscripts shall be first screened by a member of the Board of Editors to make sure that it meets the basic submission criteria. Selection Process: After the preliminary screening, manuscripts that meet the submission criteria are forwarded to two other members of the Board of Editors, who review the submission based on the following factors:  Originality  Contribution to legal knowledge  Utility and relevance to legal practice  Adequate documentation  Organisation  Clarity of presentation  Style and readability Editorial Board seeks original manuscripts that will stimulate professional dialogue, and shall not reject any manuscript for publication if the manuscript has controversial elements or presents an unpopular stance or position other than the prevailing view. In addition, the Editorial Board reserves the right to make other changes, subject to author/s’ approval. Authors receive a copy of the edited manuscript (if any) for review. The Editor-in-Chief of the Review shall make the final decision on whether to publish a manuscript, on the ratings and recommendations of other members on the Editorial Board.
