How To Give Today

Letter

Dear Oak Hill School Community, I write this letter as chairman of the Oak Hill School Board of Trustees for the 2021-2022 school year with immense gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside our Board, Hart and the incredibly talented and committed faculty and staff. On a personal level, this is our last year at Oak Hill School as parents once our youngest son, James, graduates in May 2023. I cannot overstate what this school has meant to our family–it has been an incredible 13 years of learning, spiritual formation and leadership development for each of our three children. We have so many lasting memories of teachers, coaches, Round Ups, Flag Raising and so many special moments that we will cherish. Without question, Oak Hill uniquely shaped each of our children and helped build their character, empathy and connection with others. As your Board chairman, I am really proud of what our school has accomplished since I joined the Board in July of 2017. However, I am even more excited about the direction and potential of Oak Hill. Over the last several years, the Board has worked closely with Hart, the administration and faculty and our parent community to emerge from the pandemic stronger than ever as a school. We were also able to complete our long-term strategic plan, which I believe will be the foundation for years of continued growth and positive momentum for Oak Hill and our community. Your commitment and belief in our school was evident in your incredible generosity and support of Oak Hill. We received over 700 gifts from parents, grandparents, past-parents, alumni and other friends of the school totaling $1.2 million toward the Oak Fund last year. Your gifts enrich the Oak Hill experience by providing ongoing support for our student programs, enhancements to our facilities, endowment support, financial assistance for families in our community and professional development for our teachers. We are so grateful and humbled by your confidence and support of our mission. Beyond charitable giving, I also want to recognize the outstanding volunteer work of our Parents Association led by Kacee and Joe Pat McGuigan. Our PA and other parent volunteers are critical to so many important initiatives and are great examples of our culture of inclusion and community. Our family will always be grateful to Oak Hill. It has been a distinct honor to serve as chairman of the Board, and I am so excited and optimistic about the future of the school and its role in our Nashville community. WITH GRATITUDE,
