ROBERT OKELEY

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Robert “Bob” Okeley, 79, died Monday, October 28, 2024. He was born November 15, 1944 in La Porte, Indiana to David and Mary (Miskowicz) Okeley. On January 20, 1968, in North Judson, he married Peggy Franscoviak.

Bob worked 40+ years at Thermo Products in North Judson. After retirement, he loved caring for his large backyard, planting and tending his flowers and feeding the many backyard birds. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and he loved spending time with his family and their many yearly trips to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy, one daughter, Michelle (Chris), one granddaughter, Cheyenne (Pablo), two great granddaughters and siblings: Jeanne Schacht and Jerry (Mindy) Okeley. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary Okeley, two brothers: Ray and John and baby sister, Geraldine.

Services were held Saturday November 2 at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Burial was in the St. Jacob Cemetery in North Judson.

Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. in North Judson.

ESTHER MAE COLLINS DAVIS

WINAMAC, IN - Esther Mae Collins Davis, 88, died Friday, November 1, 2024 at Hickory Creek @ Winamac in Winamac, Indiana. She was born June 11, 1936, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Thomas J. and Dora (Weaver) Collins, Sr. On August 14, 1964, she married Jack E. Davis. He died May 14, 2000. Esther spent 21, years working at Federal Mogul in Leiters Ford, Indiana, as a hand assembler. After retirement, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree from a small Bible college. She was a devoted church lady who enjoyed worship, teaching Sunday School and VBS. She attended the Von Tobel Senior Center at Pulaski County Human Services in Winamac. She wrote poetry that brought comfort and joy to friends and family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Jacalyn (Jim) Galbreath of Winamac, two sons: Raymond Davis of Winamac and Rodger Davis, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Randall E. Davis, four sisters: Mary Thompson, Ruth Hackler, Helen Hoover and Sarah Hymer and two brothers: Thomas J. Collins II and Joseph Collins.

Services were held Monday, November 4 at Frain Mortuary with Rev. William Guerin officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Memorial Cemetery in Monterey, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Von Tobel Senior Center at Pulaski County Human Services.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

CAROLE V. KONRAD

Carole V. Konrad, 87, died Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at her home. She was born on January 12, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to the late George and Margaret Russell. On November 6, 1954 Carole married Phillip W. Konrad. She is survived by her children: Dennis (Donna) Konrad, Donald (Tonie) Konrad and Karen Budka, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

Carole was a secretary at St. Peters Lutheran School for several years, where she was also a basketball coach. Carole was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.

Carole enjoyed playing multiple sports during her life including bowling, softball and volleyball. In addition to spending time with her family. Her smile and laughter will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

I am currently working on budgets with the Kankakee and Yellow River basin development where I am treasurer.
