ROBERT S. SOBIERAJ

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Robert S. Sobieraj, 73, died Saturday, December 21, 2024 in North Judson, Indiana. He was born April 13, 1951, in Buffalo, New York to the late Alexander and Elma (Frears) Sobieraj. On October 6, 1977, in Knox, Indiana, he married Janelle Baert.

Robert was a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the Knox VFW and the Wanatah American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, working in his yard and on his trucks and spending time with his family. He worked as a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Janelle, three daughters: Andrea (Scott) Hager of Andover, Minnesota, Laura (Adam) Lovely of Knox and Rachel Sobieraj of Greenfield, Indiana, three grandchildren, one brother, James Sobieraj of Winterville, North Carolina and one sister, Margaret Sobieraj of Corfu, New York.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2025 at 2pm in the Eagle Creek Cemetery in Knox. Arrangements were made by Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox.

JERRY WAYNE HEDGER

WINAMAC, IN - Jerry Wayne Hedger, 75, died Thursday, December 26, 2024. He was born December 6, 1949 in Winamac, Indiana, to the late Donald Little and Mary Marie (Darby) Hedger. On August 31, 1974, in Angeles City, Philippines, he married Nita Vargas.

Jerry was a 1968 graduate of Winamac High School. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War. In 1989, he retired from active duty after 20 years of service and returned to Winamac and worked at Plymouth Tube and drove as a sub for the post office and then switched to the post office full time.

He was a member of the Winamac American Legion Post #71 and H.O.G. He enjoyed riding his Harley, spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He always had a fresh pot of coffee ready in minutes and he will be missed dearly.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nita, and siblings: Louise E. Mangus, infant Thomas E. Hedger, Marsha L. Glassburn, infant Deborah A. Hedger and William R. Hedger. Visitation from 10am-2pm EST on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Frain Mortuary with funeral services starting at 2 with Pastor Shellie Jankowski officiating. Burial will be in the Winamac Cemetery (Southlawn Addition) in Winamac. Memorial contributions may be made to U Matter 2, Inc.

CHARLES KEITH THOMAS

WINAMAC, IN - Charles Keith Thomas, 77, died Friday, December 20, 2024 at Northwest Health Hospital in La Porte, Indiana. He was born September 18, 1947 in Frankfort, Indiana to the late Charles Henry and Margaret Irene (Terry) Thomas. On May 21, 1971, in Kokomo, Indiana, he married Sharon Kay Burger.

Keith was a veteran of the US Army serving in Europe during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated various businesses, served as manager of numerous apartment and housing communities and worked road construction. He enjoyed vacations with his wife, the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping, doing all the cooking and helping anyone in need. He was devoted to his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, one daughter, April (fiancé Paul Hobbs) Starr of Hamlet, Indiana, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one sister, Ruth (George) Sanchez of Middleburg, Florida. Memorial contributions may be made to the family

LESTER L. BANE

WESTVILLE, IN - FORMERLY OF WINAMAC, IN - Lester L. Bane,86, died Sunday, December 22, 2024 at his home. He was born February 6, 1938 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to the late Lester W. and Ann (Gray) Bane. On April 3, 1960, he married Martha J. Nicholson. On October 10, 1986, in Hobart, Indiana, he married Mona Maydell Brown.

Lester was a retired truck driver . He enjoyed tinkering around the shop, woodworking, fishing & hunting. He loved his family very much.

He is survived by two sons: Steve (Julie) Bane of Lake Station, Indiana and James Keith Bane of Winamac, one daughter, Pamela Bane of Westville, one step daughter, Sandy Kelley of Portage, Indiana, six grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one brother, David Lierman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mona, one son, Charles Bane, one daughter, Karen Bane, one step daughter, Patsy Podgorski, former spouse, Martha, and siblings: Bobby Bane, Richard Bane, Linda Moss, Diane Carmack and Edna Long.

Graveside services were held Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) with Pastor Tom Wetslaar officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
