FROM THE PTO PRESIDENT
Dear Pegasus Community,

The 2021–2022 school year proved to be an exciting one as we welcomed some normalcy back to campus. The PTO was grateful to be able to fulfill our mission of encouraging parent involvement, promoting school spirit by bringing our community together, and utilizing our funds to directly benefit students and faculty during the year.
After a year without parents on campus, and with a full slate of events, all of the dedicated PTO volunteers hit the ground running. We welcomed the faculty and staff back to school with a breakfast and lunch during their prep week and then jumped right into the start of school by hosting a parent First Day Social and the all-important Fall Parent Parties, which are a vital part of community building.
Highlights of the year included PEG-O-WEEN, the End of Year party, and Generations Day, where we were able to hear from and celebrate many generations of community members through their own personal journeys or through story books read by them. Despite being virtual, it still successfully reminded us of how fortunate our community is to be made up of families from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Service to others and parent and student education continue to remain important aspects of the Pegasus community. For FALL SERVE our students teamed with Project Hope Alliance to make birthday boxes for children experiencing homelessness, and at SPRING SERVE buddies worked together on self-care bags for students at a local elementary school. Additionally, the PTO funded two key educational programs for
the community: PEGtalks, a speaker series benefiting the parent community, and PEGpresents, a program for our teachers and students. This year, PEGtalks welcomed psychologist Dr. Allison Briscoe-Smith in person and author Rene Jain virtually.
And we can’t forget about our year-round programs that depend on reliable volunteers to keep them going. Whether we are showering the faculty and staff with PEG LOVE each month, enhancing classrooms with our Wishlist program, checking that emergency backpacks are stocked and ready, reuniting lost items with their rightful owners, ensuring our school swag is on trend, or recognizing each and every faculty and staff member on their birthday, the PTO is always working to enrich the Pegasus experience for the community.
This past year I was honored to serve as your PTO President and to represent the PTO on the Board of Trustees. I must thank the members of the PTO Executive Committee, as well as the many volunteers that work in front of and behind the scenes for our collective success. And finally, none of the important work the PTO does would be possible without everyone’s contributions to the Give to Great Annual Fund each year. The generosity of the Pegasus community never disappoints.
