Senior Wills I, ISABELLE WANG, will Sung Gyung, my successor, my unofficial computer monitor duties. To Brian, I will my love for sketching. I will Temishi the last bag of Cool Ranch Doritos at paste-up. I will Esther the ability to find her own phone, because she keeps losing it in H52. To Annie, I will a single-chance coupon to drag me outside and do something social for once. I will Marine my calculus skills. To JJ, I will an unbreakable water bottle. Last, but not least, I will the new leadership my organizational and Photoshop skills. Good luck to everyone on staff, and I wish everyone the best next year!
I, ANNIE BENEDICT, will to our incredible adviser JJ the strength to go on, early Post-Paste Ups and the most FANTASTIC wedding ever. I will to my beautiful co-EIC Marine Fujisawa a solution to our existential crises, and I will to Esther Chu all the Key IDs and uberEATS potatoes your heart desires. I love you both dearly. I will to my lax wife Isabelle Wang dogs and $2 boba. You have helped me through so much. To my lovely bean and salt bae Temishi Onnekikami, I will Pinterest boards, a YA book weekly, thoughtful discussions and bananas with rice. I can’t wait to see where your passion for graphic design takes you. To Hana Ayoub I will the entire French language. To Ciro Fidaleo I will doodly bits and rainbow clothes. To Brian Mo I will a heartfelt marriage to a tree. To Kimmy Ahmady I will the inquisitiveness to question what in tarnation is happening. To Juliana An I will my insufferable sass and the courage to pursue your dreams. To my wife Regina Lee I will the aesthetics, the memes, the rose gold, the hoes and my love. To Cindy Shim, Sarina Liu, Andrew Arrieta and Claire Bogosian I will oodles of bad puns and the ability to feel it. To Stella Yoo, Zoe Willoughby and Phoebe Borsum, I wish you another amazing year in H52 and the ambition to bring this paper above and beyond. To Two Laurio I will more than can possibly be said and 13 years of love. To the rest of staff, I will you my heart and soul. I love you all.
I, MARINE FUJISAWA, will our beloved advisor JJ post-paste ups that end at seven instead of eleven, love for aesthetic leadership boards, hand soap that never runs out and endless love and passion for newspaper. I will to my co-EIC Annie Benedict my appreciation for the meme culture and our (mostly your) ability to spit out an editorial in a day. I will to Esther Chu last minute page changes, my love for math memes and success in physics. RIP. I will to Isabelle my nonexistent expertise in coding and my nonexistent proficiency in Naruto. I will to Temishi my passion for graphic design even though my skill does not correspond with my passion and even though you probably have enough passion yourself. I will to Brian my considerate nature in not insulting other people’s sartorial choices and humility. I will to Zoe, Stella, Phoebe, Connor and Sung Gyung a chaotic but successful and memorable senior year in newspaper and no missing links. I will to Chris Chien my love for lines and safe spaces. I will to Nicole and Hana a cat, hilarious nicknames for your college friends even though they will never be as good as mine and my all of my love. I will to H52 red pens, students who can actually keep this place organized and basically everything else, as I leave all of my belongings in here anyway. I wish everyone the best and cannot thank newspaper enough for everything it has given me.
I, BRIAN MO, will Esther my unlimited amount of sass, chocolate, Trojan spirit and my unwarranted guru status. I will Marine Fujisawa airport fashion advice, wild tragedies and computer coding abilities (null). I will Annie my slacker techniques, attendance and my consistent usage of oxford commas. I will Temishi my undying love for graphics, unquenched thirst for more points and need for last-second requests. I will Isabelle my nonexistent knowledge for memes. I will JJ lavish hand lotion, a framed picture of myself, love for The Voice and an assistant for going through piles of paper. I will the coming newspaper staff quicker paste-ups and neverending inspiration. I will the coming Graphics Section the best of luck.
I, NILE MINN, will Ana, Rianne and Alison an amazing sophomore/junior year filled with happiness and success. You all have both grown so much and I am honored to have been your editor. To Nina, I will a stress-free junior year with good layouts, less creepy Snapchats, and being kidnapped by a van. Your genuine care and kindness for others is something I wish to be able to live up to. To Zoe and Phoebe, I will an awesome senior year filled with great memories and a stress free last year of high school. You two are amazing people with caring hearts and great futures ahead of you. I look forward to FaceTiming you two and listening to all the wacky and memorable moments of senior year. I look forward to seeing eight amazing issues under your leadership. To all, I will H52 and the amazing memories it brings. Never forget that I am always a phone call away, and I am always ready to listen and offer advice.
I, ESTHER CHU, will our wonderful adviser JJ last-minute NHS hours, paste-ups that last no longer than 11 PM and a HUGE thanks for dealing with leadership’s shenanigans, I will Marine Fujisawa math memes, our unconditional love for Bebas and her belongings that are always left in H52. I will Annie Benedict ridiculous $15 Meme Bibles and puns that I say are terrible but actually secretly love. I will Temishi Onnekikami blank stares and sighs at empty InDesign templates and my passion for graphic design. I will Isabelle Wang our 12-year friendship since our Montemalaga days and the mess the EICs and I make that you always end up cleaning up. I will Brian Mo a driver’s license and all my sass that I have learned from the true master. I will Zoe Willoughby, Stella Yoo, Phoebe Borsum and all my munchkins more amazing issues of The Pen and a diet that consists of food other than chips and pizza. I will Claire Kim-Narita and Elizabeth Sun our core3 group chat, burnt homemade pastries and my everlasting love. I will H52 the red pens that have disappeared throughout the year, our couch that currently resides in the staff lounge (#notafirehazard) and the memories that I made in there as my second home the past four years. I am truly grateful to each and every person that I have met at Peninsula, and I wish everyone the best of luck in their future endeavors!
I, TEMISHI ONNEKIKAMI, will Connor Tumelty aesthetic™, Century Gothic, and my sass (cause you always need it). To Two Laurio I will 2 am “bring your camera” texts and our shared love of comics. To Ciro Fidaleo and Annie Benedict I will my last minute requests to be driven around and all our collective salt and sass. To Marine Fujisawa and Esther Chu the creativity that comes with helping me come up with a front cover idea on paste up day. To Isabelle Wang the title of Honorary Graphics Team Member. I will to Brian Mo the lasso tool and Photoshop shortcuts. I will great paste up music and fantastic layouts to Chris Chien. To JJ, new leadership and the H52 family, I will on-time graphic requests and my love for newspaper and all of you.
I, TWO LAURIO, will graphics requests that come in on time. I will photographs with good lighting and few touch ups. I will points banks turned in on time and totally full. I will well thought out and planned covers. I will to Chris to come up with easy graphics. I will (not so) late paste ups filled with pizza, circus cookies, and Arizona tea. To Saffy, I will you to do great things just like the students you write about. I will that you have a great two years of high school without me. To anyone in journalism, I will an amazing experience with amazing people. I will the crazy, loving family of H52.
I, CIRO FIDALEO, will my sister Tia my space in H52 as it gave me a home in a time of need as it will do the same for you. I will LGBT United to the new presidents and club adviser, Tori, Will and Mr. Mullen, in hopes you two will continue spreading love across campus to all that don’t exactly match societal norms. I will my role on the track team to my kids: Aiden, Jake, Josh and Owen. I hope the four of you can continue building the Track family in the coming years as I did. I will H52’s Ceiling Tiles to JJ’s incoming freshman who will finish what I started for this amazing teacher. Lastly, thank you JJ for being there for me since freshman year. I hope the class of 2017, aka your first class to graduate, will be your most memorable.
