letter from the president
WE WISH YOU THE MERRIEST OF CHRISTMASES! It is without question the most wonderful time of the year, particularly here at our Christmas Spectacular concert series, once again led by the effervescent David Charles Abell. David loves to come “Home for the Holidays” to Philadelphia! As most of you know, our Second Annual I’ll Be Home for Christmas: A Salute to the Military and First Responders was an incredible celebration on December 4, kicking off this Christmas Series. We honored 2,000 American heroes— members of the various branches of the Armed Services, the Police and Fire Departments, and other service personnel. What a fitting way for the POPS to kick off this season of celebration and holiday cheer. In this season of giving, we would like to thank you for joining us in this celebratory time and for your ongoing support of the POPS throughout the year. We also want to thank the talented and dedicated musicians of the POPS Orchestra, our Music Director Michael Krajewski, and the POPS staff for making this year a truly wonderful time for the organization. On behalf of our Board of Directors, I offer you best wishes for an enchanting holiday season! Happy Holidays,
Frank Giordano, President and CEO Encore Series, Inc., The Philly POPS

All is calm

Making spirits bright
Holy Infant, so tender and mild
What fun it is to ride and sing

A Special Tribute
We would like to extend our warmest thanks
BOB ROSEN
Bob Rosen, a true friend and supporter of The
1943-2015
and heartfelt condolences to the family of Philly POPS, who enjoyed our concerts for more than 20 years. In 2014, Bob established the Robert H. Rosen Marketing Initiative, which included a personal contribution of $50,000 — one of the largest individual donations in POPS history. Thanks to his amazing generosity, we were able to expand a full suite of marketing initiatives that have helped make the POPS stronger than ever. We will honor Bob’s memory by fulfilling his wish to guarantee that future generations of concertgoers will continue enjoying the gift of our performances.
IN MEMORY OF OUR PARTNER & FRIEND ROBERT H. ROSEN, CPA • 1943 – 2015 Bob was our partner and friend of 47 years. A lover of music, one of his favorite pastimes was attending The Philly POPS concerts with his late wife, Barbara. As a POPS supporter by way of the Robert H. Rosen Marketing Initiative, Bob leaves a lasting legacy for music that will be enjoyed for generations to come. He will be greatly missed.
