INDEPENDENCE BLUE CROSS At Independence Blue Cross, the health and well-being of our community is at the heart of everything we do. We are united by this purpose. It is the driving force behind our mission as a company, and it guides our business decisions. Every day, we work to get health care right for people in the communities we proudly serve. For nearly 20 years, our volunteer program, the Blue Crew, has been a cornerstone of our commitment to the community. Each year, the Blue Crew supports a wide-range of community service projects in partnership with over 100 nonprofit organizations throughout the region. In 2019, more than 1,800 Blue Crew volunteers donated over 15,000 hours in support of 350 community service projects.
