Full of friendship and mystery, this book by Elen Caldecott will have you scratching your head as you work out whodunnit. When Dad has to cancel a holiday just hours before a flight because something’s been stolen from his office, Sylvie and Flora know exactly who to call on to help Dad out. This is more like it! Us newshounds like to have our brains tested with the odd mystery. And this book certainly kept me guessing throughout!

Written by David Baddiel and illustrated by Jim Field, this book sounds like it could contain the key to all your wildest dreams… a Mystery Man sends the twins a video-game controller, which doesn’t work with any of their usual games. But you just wait and see what it does control! Funny and full of adventure, this is a great read! I found no spelling mistakes, but even better than that, there were footnotes! It was so exciting that I even smiled at one point... and you know how rare that is.
