THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN BOOKING A HOLIDAY When planning our tours, the team at Kings Tours and Travel always have your comfort, safety and wellbeing as a priority therefore we have put together some important things to consider prior to booking your next holiday.
MOBILITY
All of our tours involve walking and some climbing of stairs. Unfortunately or fortunately, the world is not flat! Lifts are not always available. It is important that you can ascend and descend stairs unaided and without assistance unless you are travelling with a travelling companion/carer.
AIRPORT ASSISTANCE
Some airports are large and it can be quite a walk from check-in to the departure gate and vice versa. Do you need assistance to board an aircraft? If your answer is yes to this question please let us know before you depart so that we can request wheelchair assistance for you. It is the airline who provides the assistance and whilst the Kings Tour Manager is there to lead the group, it is the airline that will provide this service and airport assistance will be their responsibility.
You are required to manage your own luggage at airports. Porters and trolleys are not always available. Passengers might like to consider investing in a 4 wheel suitcase, which are light and easy to push.
HELP US HELP YOU
If you have any personal or physical constraints that may restrict you in managing your holiday on your own, you must advise us at the time of booking so we can make your holiday more comfortable. We will then confirm whether the suppliers can accommodate your special requests/meal requirements and any other special needs. Many of our suppliers and airlines need this information very early in the booking process and at times, additional paper work has to be completed.
Staying healthy is also important while on holidays so a checkup with your medical professional before you go away is always recommended and if anything has changed with your health please let us know so that we can pass on any relevant information.
We believe there are holidays for everyone and by us asking a few questions about special requirements and capabilities of you the traveller(s), together we can ensure you have a great holiday. Most importantly Travel is Magical and it should be enjoyed so careful planning from the start is always the way to do it and who better to help you than Kings Tours and Travel. We have been creating dream holidays since 1986 and we pride ourselves on what we can offer our clients.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
TRAVELLING ALONE? DON'T WORRY.
HEALTH
Travel Insurance is as essential as your passport, regardless of your travel destination. The cost of travel insurance is based on the type of cover requested, the age of the insured, the destination of travel, length of stay and any pre-existing medical conditions. A wide range of travel insurance policies are available and we will assist you in selecting the right one for you.
8
BAGGAGE
About a third of people travel alone. We will match people in twin accommodation / cabins when available, saving you money. You won’t be left alone, the Kings Tour Manager will be looking after you. There will be group activities almost every day.

WHAT DOES RELAXED OR MODERATE MEAN? You will notice above the tour name on each itinerary in this brochure it states whether the tour is 'relaxed' or 'moderate'. This means whilst you must be physically and mentally fit to travel on our escorted holidays, there are certain destinations and styles of holidays that require a higher level of general fitness than others. To ensure that you are on the right holiday for you, it is important that you are honest with us and yourself. We do not want either you or other passengers to have a negative experience on their holiday. We are therefore categorising our holidays as either relaxed or moderate.
RELAXED
These tours can be as relaxed as you want. There may be options to do more if you wish however as long as you are physically and mentally fit, you should not experience any difficulties on these holidays.
MODERATE
In certain countries like Europe and Asia in particular, there are certain environmental and structural differences that require a higher level of physical and mental fitness. These things include but are not limited to cobbled streets, queues, steps, heat, showers over a bath, and stepping on and off coaches. Cultural differences sometimes make food choices difficult when touring certain destinations. If you are aware of all these differences it helps create a more enjoyable experience for you and your fellow travellers. If you have a positive outlook and attitude you will find yourself immersed in different cultures, food, and places, taking home wonderful memories and new friends. If you are unsure of your general fitness, please come in and have a chat to one of our friendly staff and fill out a health and fitness form. Alternatively if you have any pressing concerns please consult your General Practitioner.

skirts the western banks of Loch Lomond and climbs quickly from Crianlarich to Upper Tyndrum and wild Rannoch Moor, a dramatic region of peat bogs, streams and ancient forests that are only visible from the comfort of your train. Mighty mountains provide an imposing backdrop to the journey on the approach to Fort William. On arrival, transfer to the nearby village of Ballachulish. Hotel: Isles of Glencoe Hotel or Ballachulish Hotel for 3 nights DAY 8 BALLACHULISH / ISLE OF MULL / DUART CASTLE B / D Venture to the town of Oban where you’ll board a ferry and cruise to Craignure on the Isle of Mull. Heading through the small islands and across to Mull, the incredible picturepostcard views are truly awe-inspiring. Think rugged coastline; hills rising sharply from the water’s edge, endless greens, purples and browns of the moorland; and jagged, exposed rock faces. On approach to the island, you’ll notice a lonely castle above the sea cliffs. This is Duart Castle, ancestral home of the Maclean Clan. Visit the castle, taking in its eclectic rooms and stunning views. Later, return to Ballachulish. DAY 9 BALLACHULISH / NEPTUNES STAIRCASE / LOCH LINNHE B / D We travel by coach to explore Neptune’s Staircase, an impressive flight of eight locks operated by a team of at least three lock keepers. Situated on the Caledonian Canal, the 22-ton lock gates were originally handpowered, but are now operated by hydraulics. It takes approximately one-and-a-half hours to pass from one end of the staircase to the other, where water overcomes gravity
