London Contemporary Dance School has been educating dance artists of the highest artistic quality and technical standard for over 40 years. Our training is designed to respond to the needs of contemporary dancers and dancemakers working across the world today. Balancing consistency and diversity, these graduating students are equipped with the artistic and intellectual skills, as well as the technical ability to explore, engage and contribute to dance, whilst pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a contemporary dance artist.

Theo is a choreographer, performer, designer and recently appointed Resident Artist at Greenwich Dance. Over 17 years, he has danced with Siobhan Davies, Matthew Bourne, Random Dance, The Featherstonehaughs, Bgroup and Bonachela Dance Company among others. He co-directed PROBE with Antonia Grove for five years and has been making his own work since 2008. In December 2012 he created his very first group work Ordinary Courage; a 50 minute work for six dancers and live piano that he toured to 14 theatres across the UK. Other creations and commissions include Hell Bent, (v) to leap or skip, especially in an emotional manner, P I L O T,Half a dozen concealed nows (anag), Awaken, Common and Bow and Arrow. www. theoclinkard.com

Shift Itamar Serrusi Itamar Serussi Sahar began his dance education at the age of 15 at the Israeli Dance Academy, and in 1998 he joined Batsheva Dance Company. Since 2006, he has developed his own personal style experimenting with physical boundaries by using humour and improvisation. From 2010 - 2012 he was the choreographer in residence at Danshuis Station Zuid in Tilburg, where he created several short productions along with Mono, a full length work. Mono was nominated for a Zwann (Swan) award for Best Dance Production at the Nederlandse Dansdagen in Maastricht. His work has also been presented in London, Llubljana, Paris, Prague, Brno and throughout Finland. Itamar has also worked with other companies in Graz, Copenhagen, Antwerp and The Hague.

Mix Dam Van Huynh

Originally from Southern Vietnam, Dam graduated from The Boston Conservatory of Music and Dance with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. He has worked with various companies professionally including The Nevada Ballet, Merce Cunningham Dance Company, Portugal’s Companhia de Dança Contemporânea, Richard Alston Dance Company and Phoenix Dance Theatre. Dam founded his own company in 2008, touring nationally and internationally. Dam regularly creates work for other companies and has been commissioned by Dance United, National Dance Company of Mexico, Unlock Dancing Plaza in Hong Kong, British Museum, Adugna Dance Company/Gemini Foundation in Ethiopia and Fóramen M. Ballet in Mexico. Dam was appointed Artist-inResidence at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2010/12 and is Dance United’s first Associate Artist.

Frontier Eleesha Drennan Eleesha Drennan, originally from Canada, is an award winning choreographer who currently works with National Dance Company Wales as House Choreographer and Dancer. Over the last nine years Drennan has worked with an extensive range of internationally acclaimed choreographers including Ohad Naharin, Christopher Bruce, Itzik Galili, Nigel Charnock and Angelin Preljocaj. In 2012 Drennan was awarded first prize for performance at the 16th International solo competition in Stuttgart for her solo Whiskers which has also toured China, Germany and Brazil. Most recent choreographic works include Virtual Descent with music composed by Mark Bowden for BBC National Orchestra Wales; Phantoms Of Us and Imbue, created in collaboration with visual artist Sue Williams, and Carve which was the product of a residency with North Netherlands Dance in Holland.Â

Patricia Alcaide Zafra Nationality: Spanish Before LCDS: Foundation Course in Contemporary Dance, Ballet and Improvisation, Escuela de Danza Maria Carbonell Patricia is a strong and versatile interpreter. She has trained in theatre and circus, specifically in the areas of aerial and clown. She is a strong contact performer and is passionate about improvisation. Patricia has worked nationally and internationally, as a dancer and a choreographer. She has also taught contemporary dance to young people in Spain. She is interested in dance for camera, and has directed and produced several video-dances including a documentary, Investing in the Future. Patricia is part of the New Movers Collective 2013 and Feet off the Ground Dance, which takes contact improvisation to festivals in the UK.

Hannah Anderson-Ricketts Nationality: British Before LCDS: Access to Dance, BTEC National Diploma, Dance, Lewisham College, London Hannah is a versatile, well-rounded and strong dance artist in performance, creation and teaching and has been awarded the Peggy Hawkins Scholarship in recognition of this. As part of the LCDS exchange programme she studied at the California Institute of Arts and was a recipient of a Big Dance Micro Grant for her project Dance Means. Hannah is currently involved in Street Stories, a collaborative project initiated by the Royal Opera House and East London Dance, her work will be showcased at The Linbury Theatre this July. She plans to build an international portfolio combining performance, choreography and teaching with travel.
Julie Schmidt Andreasen Nationality: Danish Before LCDS: GCE Advanced Levels including Dance and Cultural Studies, Heleneholms Gymnasium, Sweden One year professional foundation programme in contemporary dance, Copenhagen Contemporary Dance School, Denmark Julie’s strengths lie in cross art performance and choreography. She performed in the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony and has collaborated with artists from Royal College of Art, Guildhall School for Music and Drama and City & Guilds of London Art School. She has choreographed works that have toured with LC3 and have been performed at the Robin Howard Dance Theatre, The Place. Julie hopes to continue collaborating with performing artists, visual artists and musicians as well as developing her improvisation and conceptual work.

Daniel Baker Nationality: British Before LCDS: GCE Advanced Levels in Drama and Theatre Studies, Applied Dance Training, Brockhill Park Performing Arts College, Kent Daniel is a skilled and knowledgeable facilitator of improvised movement. Combined with his a training in drama and theatre Studies he is able to bridge the gap between different art forms and inject them into his performances. He has performed a variety of dance works both professionally and as a student at the Robin Howard Dance Theatre, Richmix, The Theatre Royal Margate, and The Gulbenkian Theatre, Canterbury. Daniel has been offered a place on the Postgraduate Diploma programme, Verve at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance.
Beth Bennett Nationality: British Before LCDS: GCE Advanced Level in Dance and Diploma in classical ballet, Tring Park School for the Performing Arts Beth is a classically trained dancer with a strong background in ballet and contemporary techniques such as Cunningham and Graham. She has worked with Robert Cohan performing in the piece class and was filmed at Rambert contemporary dance school for his documentary. Beth plans to further her education in teaching dance to visually impaired children.

Jessica Binfield Nationality: British Before LCDS: BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance), Lewisham College Centre for Advance Training (CAT), The Place, London Jessica is a skilled and fearless technical performer who relishes new challenges and is constantly striving and pushing herself towards successfully achieving her goals. She is particularly interested in costume and performance art, creating large-scale installation which blurred the lines between costume and interactive architecture. Jessica will be undertaking an apprenticeship with Danish Dance Theatre in Copenhagen and plans to develop her costume and design skills to collaborate with other artists.
Kit Brown Nationality: British Before LCDS: Four GCE Advanced Levels including Drama, Northampton School for Boys Kit is a versatile and intelligent dancer. During his time at LCDS he has been awarded the Peggy Hawkins Scholarship for outstanding potential; been elected Student Governor for the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama; and organised the Conservatoire’s inaugural Student Conference. Kit will be joining National Dance Company Wales as an apprentice dancer as part of the London Contemporary Dance School Postgraduate Diploma in Performance.

Ffion Campbell-Davies Nationality: British Before LCDS: BTEC and GCE Advanced Levels in Music Technology, Art, Media and Dance, Ysgol Cymraeg, Pentrebane, Cardiff, NVQ Level 4 in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Rubicon Dance, Cardiff Ffion is skilled in acting, singing, piano, percussion, painting, filming and editing, music composition/improvisation, circus pole, salsa and samba, house dance and waacking. As part of the LCDS exchange programme she studied at California Institute of the Arts, where she fully explored herself as an artist. She studied Afro Cuban and Brazilian percussion, North Indian voice, Balinese gamelan and dance as well as dance for camera film editing. These experiences have given her a foundation which she intends to build upon. Upon graduation, Ffion intends to increase her experience in a range of styles of work which will help to create her own identity as an artist and dancer. She aspires to present her own work one day.
Poh Hian Chia Nationality: Singaporean Before LCDS: Classical Ballet & Contemporary, School of the Arts, Singapore Royal Academy of Dance Certificate in Vocational Graded Examination in Dance Advance 2, Singapore Ballet Academy A fluid but dynamic mover, Poh is a versatile performer who enjoys learning new dance styles and discovering the extremes of movement. She was awarded scholarships from the Peggy Hawkins Scholarship Fund and the National Arts Council, Singapore. Poh has represented London Contemporary Dance School at the 8BEATS Federica Mazzi International Dance Gala 2013 in Verona and performed at the International Dance Festival Macau, China with The Human Expression (T.H.E) 2nd Company, Singapore in 2008. As a performing artist, Poh plans to further her Gaga-inspired practise and hone in on her dance and choreography skills. She plans to bring her experience back to Singapore to inspire future dancers.

Lucia Chocarro Urmeneta Nationality: Spanish Before LCDS: BTEC National Award in Performing Arts (Dance) and National Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance), Lewisham College Lucia is a powerful and fluid dancer she has a strong ability to connect with audiences and has performed both nationally and internationally. She is part of Just Us Dance Theatre with choreographer Joseph Toonga, combining contemporary dance with elements of popping and other hip hop styles. Lucia plans to continue to work as a founding member of Feet off the Ground Dance, touring contact improvisation and teaching workshops at festivals around the UK. She also aims to work in Europe further developing her skills in release techniques, floor work, contact improvisation and circus performance.
Albert Bartłomiej Ciastek Nationality: Polish Before LCDS: Matura, I Liceum Ksieznej Elzbiety w Szczecinku Albert is a versatile dancer and teacher and has been invited to teach workshops across Poland. During his time with LCDS he has performed at the Royal Opera House with Kinetic Dance Company in St Paul’s Cathedral as a part of City of London Festival. Albert is planning to stay in London to further develop as an artist, taking part in projects and auditioning for companies.

Timothy Clark Nationality: British Before LCDS: Contemporary Dance, Northern School of Contemporary Dance Tim specialises in character work and improvisation with an additional interest in choreography. The highlight of his final year at London School of Contemporary Dance was performing in Resolution! 2013 in a trio choreographed by EDge dancer/choreographer Mansoor Ali which used elements of improvisation and voice work and took influence from Monty Python. Tim hopes to choreograph his own work next year for Resolution! 2014 as well as continuing to dance and perform in London.
Fionn Cox Davies Nationality: British Before LCDS: Acting, Drama Centre London Fionn Cox-Davies is a dancer, actor, singer and musician who utilises his experience from acting in his movement direction for theatre and film working with actors, models and dancers. He is currently working with Punch Drunk on The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable while completing his degree. He intends to continue working professionally as a performer and movement director and plans to set up a company that uses the relationship between acting and dance as a playground to create work.

Henry Curtis Nationality: British Before LCDS: BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance), Stratford-upon-Avon College Henry has strong performance qualities and an interest in creativity. During his time at LCDS he has tried to find as much performance experience outside of the school curriculum as possible. In doing so he has performed with choreographers such as Franscois Testory and Simon Vincenzi, Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures and Jemma Bicknell in Resolution! 2012. After graduating Henry hopes to develop as a dance artist, exploring his interest in a range of dance, attending auditions and gaining as much experience as possible.
Ihsaan de Banya Nationality: British Before LCDS: Four GCE Advanced Levels including Dance, Dunraven Sixth Form, London Ishaan has experience teaching young people and is committed to facilitating dance with those interested. He collaborated with fellow students to choreograph a dance work that became part of the LC3 repertoire and toured to Italy, Wales and various venues around London. After graduating Ishaan will join Richard Alston Dance Company as an apprentice dancer as part of the London Contemporary Dance School Postgraduate Diploma in Performance. He plans to also nurture his own creativity and choreography further in the future.

Christopher Edwards Nationality: British Before LCDS: Foundation Degree in Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Londo,. Advanced Levels in Dance Drama and German, Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I College, Leicester Christopher choreographed and composed for A Bloom for All Seasons, Curve Leicester 2011. He is a highly capable music improviser, DJ, composer, beat boxer and sound artist. He released an album in November 2012 and is a live controllerist DJ for dance social events 2012. Christopher hopes to work as a freelance composer and choreographer specialising in electronic composition whilst developing his choreographic work. He aims to link his research into humans response to sound with his articulate and highly energetic choreographic work.
Tomislav English Nationality: British Before LCDS: UG Cert of Higher Education in Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance Tomislav is a diverse performer, drawing from multi-disciplinary training in the fields of dance, physical theatre, martial arts and music. In 2011/12 he spent 11 months travelling the globe to explore a variety of different performance styles, ranging from three weeks learning Bakiga in rural Uganda to 4 months training in Capoeira in Brazil. Tomislav has recently started working with Punchdrunk, in collaboration with the National Theatre, to create and perform a role in their upcoming production The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable which will be performed in London from June till the end of December this year.

Francesco Ferrari Nationality: Italian Before LCDS: Matura, Liceo linguistico Francesco Gonzaga, Italy One year intensive training in contemporary, ballet, neo-jazz., Vic Ballet School, Verona, Italy Francesco is an honest, collaborative and committed performer. His skills are adaptable to a rich range of contexts, he enjoys the combination of physically demanding work with theatricality and visual arts. Throughout his studies he has enjoyed integrating different art forms within the choreographic process. He was inspired by the experience of being involved in Compass, choreographed by Pascal Merighi and Felix Buerkle for Tanztheater Wuppertal and performed at Sadler’s Wells. Francesco will join Scottish Dance Theatre as an apprentice as part of the Postgraduate Diploma in Performance at London Contemporary Dance School. He then hopes to continue to perform either in UK or in mainland Europe.
Anna-Kay Gayle Nationality: British Before LCDS: GCSE Dance, Crossways Academy Access to Dance, Dance Foundation and BTEC First Diploma Dance in Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary Technique, Lewisham College Anna-Kay is a captivating performer with the ability to provoke and evoke her audience in a variety of styles from contemporary to African, dancehall, vogue, waacking, street dance commercial and hip-hop. She performed in OMG! choreographed by Imogen Knight, part of Questions and Dancers, a co-commission by Sadler's Wells, The Place and Company of Angels. She also has site-specific experience, performing in the Festival Gardens and on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral. After graduating Anna-Kay plans to persue her performance career around the world. She plans to create works of art combining dance, art and photography and in the future would like to open her own studio/school in Jamaica, her place of birth.

Corinne Gayle-Osborne Nationality: British Before LCDS: Four GCE Advanced Levels including Dance, City and Islington Sixth Form College Corinne is a dynamic and passionate dancer and vocalist, who is driven by musicality and rhythm. In the last few years Corinne has been training in a wide range of styles including jazz, ballet, hiphop, African and contemporary dance. She has had multiple teaching experiences working in the community and secondary schools. Following graduation Corinne plans to travel and hopes to be involved in international dance projects before returning to London to pursue her dance career further.
Alistair Goldsmith Nationality: British Before LCDS: Advanced Levels including Dance and Drama, Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School, Buckinghamshire Alistair is a charismatic and technical dance artist with strong performance qualities. As part of the LCDS’s exchange program he trained at Purchase College in New York and was invited to dance with the Richard Alston Dance Company at Montclair University, New Jersey in A Ceremony of Carols. After graduating Alistair will become an apprentice dancer for National Dance Company Wales as part of the Postgraduate Diploma in Performance at London Contemporary Dance School.

Lois Grinstead Nationality: British Before LCDS: GCE Advanced Levels, Skipton Girls High School, Skipton, North Yorkshire Lois is an open minded individual who enjoys developing character based roles in a collaborative process. Lois intends to seek opportunities to expand her knowledge of dance and meet professionals from the worlds of theatre and dance.
Marti Guell Vallbona Nationality: Spanish Before LCDS: Contemporary/Modern dance diploma and Creative Hip Hop diploma, Company&Company, Barcelona. Marti has a strong background in hip hop and an interest in poetry. He has experience in teaching, choreographing and as a dance artist through a range of projects. His most recent work is the dance film Deciduous. Marti’s ambition is to continue exploring the different possibilities within contemporary dance.

Camila Gutierrez Nationality: Spanish (Born in Columbia) Before LCDS: Degree in Contemporary Dance, Conservatory of Barcelona Laie Camila is a dance performer and visual artist. She is skilled in contact improvisation and floor work and has a strong interest in physical theatre and improvisation. Camila plans to develop her interest in experimental work with different medias of art, physical theatre, improvisation in performance, contact improvisation, floor work, release and gaga. She aims to pursue a career as a freelance artist and interact with different artists and choreographers as a performer whilst developing her own work as a visual artist and animator.
Victoria Guy Nationality: British Before LCDS: BTEC National Diploma in Dance, Gateshead College / Dance City Victoria is a curious and committed performer. She has performed at many UK venues including Bloomsbury Festival for James Wilton and Sadler’s Wells for a project with Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, she created and co-ordinated a performance of Mammalia for !Vamos! Festival Newcastle, and collaborated with composer Juan Manuel Loaiza on an improvised work Scripted in Black. Thomas Hands Nationality: British Before LCDS: Access to Higher Education Dipolma, Foundation Course in Contemporary Dance, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Leeds Thomas is a diverse contemporary dancer who has strengths in floor work and choreography. In 2012 his choreography was performed at the launch of Big Dance 2012 in St Pancras. He has also worked with Katie Green in research for a short video. After graduating Thomas will become a member of Jasmin Vardimon’s JV2 company where he will specialise in physical theatre, voice and floor work.
Ellyn Hebron Nationality: British Before LCDS: GCE Advanced Level in Performance Studies, King Edward VI High School Ellyn is a strong athletic dancer, with a versatile movement style who is keen to explore various dance styles and challenge her perception of movement. As part of the LCDS exchange programme she studied at the Univversity of Hawaii where she expanded her training to include Pacific dance styles such as Japanese, Okinawan and Hula. Ellyn will be joining EDge as part of the Postgraduate Diploma in Performance at London Contemporary Dance School. She is looking forward to an exciting future in dance, working with a variety of choreographers in technical and theatrical work, as well as teaching young artists who will build the future of dance.

Kenny Wing Tao Ho Nationality: British Before LCDS: GCE Advanced Levels including Dance and two AS Levels, Brookfield Community School, Chesterfield Kenny is a playful, intuitive and detailed dancer. He has a keen interest in gaga and comes from a background in break dance. Kenny performed with Akram Khan and the Akram Khan Dance Company for the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony. In the future Kenny intends to gain further experience as a performer, whilst developing his choreographic and artistic voice. Kenny also plans to return to his background and explore further into break dance and b-boy culture.
Robyn Holder Nationality: South African Before LCDS: National Diploma in Performing Arts in Dance, Lewisham College, London Matriculated with University Exemption, The Diocesan School for Girls, Grahamstown, South Africa Robyn is a physical and inquisitive dancer with technical stability. During her studies she discovered particular interests in contact improvisation and improvisation. She has worked with choreographer Mestre Ponciano on a site specific work performed for the City of London Festival at the festival gardens and St Pauls Cathedral. She also performed for Resolution! 2013 in an inclusive work choreographed by Ingrid Molinos based on Cataloian folklore. After graduating Robyn plans to continue working as a founding member of Feet off the Ground Dance, performing contact improvisation work and teaching workshops at festivals across the UK and internationally.

Sarah is a passionate performer and has the ability to adapt to many different styles of dance giving her a wide performance vocabulary. She has lead many contemporary dance classes for young people and gained a strong knowledge in teaching as well as undertaking performance projects around the UK. Following graduation Sarah plans to work on contemporary dance projects and audition for companies within the UK and Europe.
Francis Vincent Johnson Nationality: British Before LCDS: Four GCE Advanced Levels including Music, City Academy Bristol Sixth Form College Francis is highly trained in street dance forms such as popping, locking and house. He has been competing for four years internationally at highly acclaimed street dance/battle events in Europe and Asia and has been a representative with the professional London based street dance company, Plague Dance Company since 2012. Louise has an affinity for humour and enjoys combining this with energetic physicality in her performances as well as provoking powerful responses from audiences. During her second year Louise co-choreographed and performed a playful duet portraying strong characters that was selected to appear in the graduation performances. James Morgan Nationality: British Before LCDS: Three years with Yorkshire Young Dancers, Northern School of Contemporary Dance James is a keen performer, improviser, choreographer and writer. Since 2011, he has been the editor of the independent student publication, Garble. Earlier this year, he choreographed a work in collaboration with Charlotte Fone, a designer from Wimbledon College of Art, which was well received. Upon graduation, James will continue to perform, develop his creative relationship with Charlotte and continue writing, with the aim of founding a new printed contemporary performance magazine.
Ryan Munroe Nationality: British Before LCDS: BTEC National Diploma Access to Dance, Lewisham College Ryan is a strong, dynamic and versatile dancer with a theatrical background; he is drawn to physically challenging, expressive and conceptual work. In 2008 he choreographed a solo which was selected for a show case at the Lillian Baylis Theatre. Ivan Oltramari Nationality: Italian Before LCDS: Professional Dancer and Teacher in Ballroom, A.N.M.B. Modena, Italy Ivan has participated in many competitions throughout his dance career. He is an experienced dancer with a wealth of 20 years training in a variety of styles including ballroom, Latin, Argentine tango and jazz. After achieving numerous national titles, Ivan obtained his Diploma as a professional ballroom dance teacher in 2006. Following graduation, Ivan plans to return to Italy to teach Cunningham based contemporary classes.

She will join Verve, the Postgraduate Performance Company of Northern School of Contemporary Dance in September 2013. While pursuing her career as a professional dancer, Stephanie is hoping to continue developing her teaching skills so that she is able to pass on her dance knowledge to other students.

He also has a diverse range of skills in extreme and mountain sports. Whilst studying at London Contemporary Dance School he danced at the Royal Opera House and performed The Bride and the Bachelors: Duchamp with Cage, Cunningham, Rauschenberg and Johns exhibiton at the Barbican. Samantha-Jane Ryan Nationality: British Before LCDS: Advanced Level equivalent Dance, Dance Studies, Performance Studies and Drama, The Graduate College of Dance Samantha-Jane is a unique and technical dancer with a strong passion for movement. She is trained in a range of dance styles including contemporary, classical ballet, jazz, tap, Irish, Spanish and mallroom. She has spent the last year of her training collaborating with professional puppeteers to devise a contemporary work that incorporates the use of a puppet. The work was performed at The Place and has been programmed to appear in The Place’s dance event for children Something Happening For Kids in July. Upon graduation Samantha-Jane will embark on a career as a freelance dance artist, producing contemporary dance work that involves the use of puppetry with the aim of engaging younger audiences with contemporary dance performance.

A recipient of Charlotte Kirkpatrick Award for Exceptional Potential as a Dance Artist, her performance experience includes working with Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch at Sadler’s wells. She has created several works at London Contemporary Dance School including a collaboration with composer Helgi Ingvarsson which was performed in the Robin Howard Theatre. Alongside her studies she has developed a keen interest in combining dance and film. In 2012 her film Incorporate identity was selected to be screened at the dance film festival Wallpaper Dance in Italy. In the future, Esther plans to work with choreographers across the world to further develop her skills and nurture her own choreographic work.

She has strong attention to detail and is capable in leadership roles, having helped to either rehearse or direct rehearsals on behalf of others. She has taken part in performance projects presented at the Royal Opera House and in other venues in Europe. Jemima plans to gain experience as a dancer in a contemporary setting or as a rehearsal director. She also has a keen interest in personal training, fitness and prehabilitation and seeks to gain enough experience in these fields to combine both dance work and health and fitness.

She has a particular interest in floor work, contact improvisation and release based work and also has a strong technical grounding. In 2012, Sophie worked with William Forsythe as part of Sadler’s Wells Extraordinary collaborations project. Following graduation, Sophie will be joining Verve, the postgraduate performance company of Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Joseph Toonga Nationality: British Before LCDS: Foundation Course in Contemporary Dance, Lewisham College Joseph is a skilled hip-hop dancer and street dance teacher. He is able to combine different styles of dance whilst retaining the individual quality of movement. In 2011 he was awarded the Blueprint Bursary supported by East London Dance, Sadler’s Wells and London Youth Dance. In 2012 he was commissioned by East London Dance, Spitalfields Music and Big Dance to develop a site-specific piece which was also part of the Greenwich Dance Cabaret in December 2012. In the future Joseph hopes to establish his dance company Just Us Dance Theatre and develop a mentorship program for young people aiming to get into dance.

During her studies at London Contemporary Dance School she has choreographed three pieces which have been selected to be performed in the Robin Howard Theatre. He's currently a Lecturer in Contemporary Dance at London Contemporary Dance School and joins the faculty in September as a Lecturer in Dance. She started taking acting lessons at the age of nine and has worked with several physical theatre companies and in a range of video dance projects. In 2003 working with Carme Martí, she qualified for several competitions, winning first prize in Anaprode’s Competition (Tarragona, Spain) and third prize in Concurs National de Danse (France). She was selected for a video dance project by the company Malpelo-Animal a l’Esquena and NU-2’S shown on the Spanish television for International Dance Day. Since completing her undergraduate studies she has worked as a freelance performer and received funding for her own interdisciplinary research, which explores the relationship between place, memory, and people through site-specific performance. Elise plans to continue working as a freelance dancer/performer in London and beyond, as well as pursuing her own projects, both independently and collaboratively.

Whilst showing her own choreography in large-scale Canadian dance festivals, Heather was a founding member and active contributor to The Dep[art] ment, an interdisciplinary arts collective and space. Central to her work has been the desire to share her teaching skills with others, mentoring dance artists, teachers and young people in the development of creative dance leadership skills. She was the recipient of The Peggy Hawkins Scholarship Fund, awarded for technical ability, choreographic potential and contribution to the life of London Contemporary Dance School. As an apprentice with Danish Dance Theater, Mari worked with Itzik Gallili and Tim Rushton while also gaining extensive performance experience on tour with the company. Upon graduation, Mari plans to complete her MA and to freelance in Europe, focusing on theatre, improvisation and physical awareness in her work.

In 2009 Leire moved to London and trained at London Contemporary Dance School where she had the opportunity to perform in works choreographed by Richard Alston and Siobhan Davies. Giulia Montalbano Nationality: Italian Before PG Dip: Foundation course in Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Stage Centro Danza, Palermo, Italy BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance, London Contemporary Dance School Giulia is a determined dancer with strong ballet technique and experience in a number of contemporary styles. She is able to change the quality of her movement rapidly depending on the work performed. In the future Giulia plans to further develop her performance skills.

Gabriela Montgomery-Solano Nationality: British Before PG Dip: Centre for Advance Training and Shift, The Place; BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance, London Contemporary Dance School. Gabriela is a strong and versatile dancer, who has been attending classes at The Place since the age of six. Her Brazilian background has influenced her passion of African routed music and dance styles. She recently completed an apprenticeship with Tavaziva Dance Company. Inspired by Bawren Tavaziva's work, she hopes to further her dance knowledge by researching Brazilian dance to create her own unique style. She intends to continue her work as a performer and dance teacher.
Anton Rosenberg Nationality: Swedish Before PG Dip: Upper Secondary/High School Diploma in Professional Dance, classical line/direction, The Royal Swedish Ballet School, Stockholm BA (Hons) in Professional Dance and Performance, Central School of Ballet, London Anton is an interesting and strong technical dancer, with a great range of movement dynamics and a powerful presence on stage. He has participated in several projects and workshops with GĂśteborgsOperans Danskompani, Nederlands Dans Theater and Modern Dance Theatre. Anton joined Bern Ballet as part of the London Contemporary Dance School Postgraduate Apprenticeship Scheme, where he worked with Ă–rjan Andersson, Andonis Foniadakis and Cathy Marston. He also performed existing works by Johan Inger, Medhi Walerski and Alexander Ekman. Anton is about to join Tanz Luzerner Theater for a new creation of Sleeping Beauty with Stijn Celis.

Manuela Sarcone Nationality: Italian Before PG Dip: BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance, London Contemporary Dance School Manuela is a contemporary dancer with a background in ballet. She has explored and experimented with both improvisation and the use of voice on stage. She is open and enthusiastic about collaborations with other art forms such as music, video, photography and acting. In the past she has collaborated with film maker Fiona Chaney and drama director Michael Simon, alongside choreographers such as, Orjian Andersson, Nicola Grundel, Rick Nodine. Manuela plans to continue her work as a freelance dancer focusing on dance theatre while continuing her movement research with the intention of finding her own movement language and choreographic aesthetic.
Christopher Scott Nationality: British Before PG Dip: BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance, London Contemporary Dance School Chris is a physical and engaging performer. He's currently developing his own choreographic presence in Wales, this year he has created new works on NDC Wales for Alternative Routes, NDC Wales Graduate Ensemble (Welsh Tour) & NDC Wales Associates. He was a keynote speaker at the daCi and WDA International Dance Summit 2012, in Taiwan. Chris joined National Dance Company Wales as an apprentice dancer as part of the London Contemporary Dance School Postgraduate Diploma in Performance, he will remain with the company as he takes up a full contract from August.

Monique Smith-Mcdowell Nationality: British Before PG Dip: BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance, London Contemporary Dance School Monique is a dynamic and versatile performer. She trained as a gymnast for 14 years before joining the undergraduate programme at LCDS. She has worked with Barak Marshall and performed as part of dance umbrella. Monique joined Richard Alston Dance Company as an apprentice dancer as part of the London Contemporary Dance School Postgraduate Diploma in Performance, and performed during the international tour. She also performed with the company at The Bride and the Bachelors: Duchamp with Cage, Cunningham, Rauschenberg and Johns exhibition at the Barbican. Monique will continue her performance career as a freelance dancer.
Oihana Vesga Bujan Nationality: Spanish Before PG Dip: Cycle spĂŠcialisĂŠ in Dance, Conservatoire National Maurice Ravel, Biarritz, France; BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance, London Contemporary Dance School Oihana is a strong, committed and versatile dancer, with a curious and imaginative approach to creation and performance. A recipient of the Charlotte Kirkpatrick Award for Exceptional Potential as a Dance Artist; she won first prize at the International Contemporary Dance Contest in Biarritz (France); and has performed in works by Janice Garrett, Thierry Malandain, Dane Hurst. Oihana joined Richard Alston Dance Company as an apprentice dancer as part of the London Contemporary Dance School Postgraduate Diploma in Performance, touring nationally and internationally. Oihana will be joining the Richard Alston Dance Company as a company member in July 2013.

Joy Wang Ning Nationality: Singaporean Before PG Dip: Foundation Course in Ballet and Contemporary Dance and BA (Hons) in Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, London Royal Academy of Dance Advance 2 in ballet, Dance Spectrum International, Singapore Joy is versatile and responsive to the environment and the needs of others ashe works with. She has performed works by Martha Graham, Kenneth MacMillan, Itzik Galili, Kerry Nicholls, Ross McKim and Director of Danish Dance Theatre, Tim Ruston. An apprentice with Danish Dance Theatre as part of the London Contemporary Dance School Postgraduate Diploma in Performance, Joy has toured Denmark, USA and parts of Europe. For this reason we created the Fund for Excellence, which distributes grants to students in need of additional financial support. These awards make a real difference to those who might otherwise not have the resources necessary to complete their training. Alumni Network Reconnecting London Contemporary Dance School www.lcds.ac.uk/alumni Since 1969 London Contemporary Dance School has seen almost 3,000 students push the boundaries of contemporary dance in its studios. Many have gone on and founded their own companies, become directors of internationally recognised dance organisations and have been acknowledged as outstanding performers. The success of our former students has made the School one of the world’s leading conservatoires.
This year’s graduating students join this network of distinguished dance professionals who continue to shape the future of dance across the globe, and we hope that the School and our growing alumni community will continue to be a source of inspiration to them throughout their career. For this reason we established the Alumni Network which allows former students to keep up to date with developments at the School and access alumni services and benefits.
We are extremely thankful to those alumni who continue to make a substantial contribution to the current student experience by offering workshops, placements and by kindly supporting the Fund for Excellence, which distributes bursaries to students in need of additional financial support. London Contemporary Dance School 2013/14 Performances Collaborations: December Third year BA students collaborate with final year designers from Wimbledon College of Art or postgraduate composers from Guildhall School of Music and Drama to create original works. In Performance: February/March New works created by our undergraduate students from across the BA (Hons) course. Exchanges: May London Contemporary Dance School presents dance companies from a range of highly regarded dance schools/ conservatoires including Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance and Northern School of Contemporary Dance.
End of Year Season Postgraduate Performances: June Our postgraduate choreography students each present their work over two nights. Graduation Performances: July Our graduating BA (Hons) and Advanced Dance Studies students perform as we celebrate their achievements at the end of the school year.
On Tour EDge: March - July The postgraduate performance company tour the UK and Europe between March and July and perform for three nights at the Robin Howard Dance Theatre mid-tour. Performance dates will be announced in January 2014. LC3: June The third year touring company perform around London colleges, universities and to some professional UK venues for four weeks in June. Performance dates will be announced in March 2014.
