THE DAUGHTERS OF RÓISÍN
A hard-hitting play that explores the harrowing history of church and state-sanctioned abuse against pregnant women out of wedlock in Ireland over the last 100 years. Inspired by Aoibh Johnson's great-grandmother, the play has toured widely across Ireland and the UK, including sell-out shows in London, Belfast and Dublin. The play also had its Australian debut at the Adelaide Fringe in 2019.

From award-winning playwright maatin, Duck is about adolescence, the pressures of sporting competition and finding your identity in an environment that doesn’t cater for difference.

JAKE ROCHE: NEPORRHOIDS
Join Jake Roche as he squeezes out every last drop of celeb juice, dishes the dirt and spills the tea on the world of fame in this autobiographical sort-of-musical. Presenting Jake’s Fringe debut, Jake Roche: Neporrhoids! looks at his meteoric rise to fame in a boyband and his existential quest for relevance, questioning if he is merely a ‘one-hit wonder’ nepo baby or more. Neporrhoids! tells Jake’s story, from Universal Music to universal credit.

ONE MORE
One More begins with the history of dating from dance halls and slow sets to modern ‘apps’. Ryan and Kayleigh are lost in a world that’s got colder. There’s little chance of romance in bars. People don’t talk. Drink helps but not knowing when to stop brings trouble. Catchy raps accompany flashbacks in this fast paced comedy about self discovery. Told from a town (Dublin) where the right option is to go home but unfortunately for many (Ryan) the decision is to have one more.

Frances Ruffelle & Norman Bowman
THE SCOT & THE SHOWGIRL
Starring Tony Award winner Frances Ruffelle and West End leading man Norman Bowman, The Scot & The Showgirl is a true(ish) wee musical thingamajig about a perfectly imperfect relationship. They celebrate their quirky romance in a touchingly funny and mildly madcap song cycle - from Brigadoon to Broadway via Sondheim, Streisand, Bacharach and more. Expect love, laughter and tartan.

Josh Berry JOSH BERRY
Like many insufferable late twenties bourgeois types, Josh Berry has spent the last eighteen months in therapy ‘doing the work’. This show is an opportunity to hear, often through the guise of characters and impressions, about all the problems he has and have a bloody good laugh at them. There’ll also be plenty of the usual stuff (South Africans, ice baths, management consultant chat) so the metropolitan chaps that come to watch him don’t feel short changed.

MARGOLYES & DICKENS: THE BEST BITS
Unstoppable 83-year-old Miriam Margolyes returns to the Edinburgh Fringe for the first time since 2012 with a new solo show.
The best bits from her Olivier-Award nominated global smash hit Dickens’ Women and the best bits from her outrageous and piercingly honest box office busting UK tours.
In the first half, combining her infectious passion for Dickens and her phenomenal versatility as a performer, Miriam will bring to life her favourite, most affecting and colourful characters from Charles Dickens' timeless novels.
Reliably outrageous and always entertaining, Miriam will then open the floor to your unexpurgated questions, sharing the stories and life lessons that have made her a bestseller and undisputed queen of the chat show. Ask her anything: she'll tell the truth.
Join Miriam for a riotous afternoon, as full of life and surprises as the actress herself.
Guaranteed to offend and delight!

THE GREATEST MUSICAL THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN BY RANDY THATCHER
A lonely musical composer named Randy Thatcher has finally found the confidence to share his magnum opus (to an imaginary audience in his bedroom). While performing his show about heartbreak, friendship, and intergalactic warfare, Randy realizes his life might not be so different from that of his show’s protagonist, Gazandy.
Written and performed by Matt Haughey, an NYC based singer-songwriter with over 10 million streams across platforms and multiple songs featured on SiriusXM The Pulse. Randy, on the other hand, has never had anyone listen to his music besides his Mom, but he’s sure excited to give it a try! Haughey’s lyrics are pure and genuinely from deep within his soul NY NJ Entertainment Eats, for Matt Haughey's music

THIS TOWN
This is for the kids from the far off towns that nobody's heard of, that sit on buses rolling backwards out of nothing watching everything fall into silence.
Described by WhyNow magazine as a modern-day Under Milk Wood, and an 'unmissable hour of theatre' by LostInTheatreLand.co.uk, This Town arrives at the fringe after a successful sold-out run at Contact and Derby Theatre. Based on the epic poem And Within These Cobbled Streets published by Verve Press, This Town pushes the boundaries of spoken word, storytelling and theatre, dropping audiences into a small midlands town whilst investigating the difficulties of male friendship, masculinity and male sexuality. The characters will make you laugh cry and reflect on on the importance of close-knit communities supporting each other through difficult times.

Kate Butch
KATE BUTCH: WUTHERING SHITES
Fresh from the runway of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, comedy crossdresser Kate Butch has written a jukebox musical based on the songs of Kate Bush (kind of like if Mamma Mia! had a nervous breakdown) but now she needs your help to get 'BUSH!' to Broadway.
Join the 'great comedian' (WhatsOnStage) as she runs up that hill, with stand-up comedy, live vocals, lip sync extravanganzas and more cloudbusting than you can shake a stick at.
The breakout star of BBC Three's smash TV series makes her much-anticipated return to the Edinburgh Fringe, having previously starred in such hits as Kate If You Wanna Go Butcher and Drag Queens vs. Zombies. Specially updated for 2024, Wuthering Shites is an ode to Kate Butch's favourite singer
Featuring live performances of Bush's classics, including The Man With the Child in His Eyes, This Woman's Work, Running Up That Hill and, of course, Wuthering Heights, this new production features a brand-new song written with double Musical Comedy Award winner Anna Hale, plus direction by Funny Women finalist Caitlin Powell. THE BORDER
The Border was created in tribute to non-binary Ukrainian performer, Antonina Romanova, who was kept on the front line by the war. That doesn’t mean she couldn’t still be with us in another guise.
Creation of a new, intimate language of the [non-]present, who devoted their life to defending their own dignity. It oscillates between performance and ritual, becoming a ‘rite of passage’, a moment of ‘receiving and giving’. It creates a new field where time is only a moving image of eternity. Grotowski Institute residence at Fringe. This project is co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland from the Culture Promotion Fund.

Taskmaster’s yardstick for failure returns for his tenth run at the Pleasance. A recap: The Comedy Zone (Cabaret Bar, 2010): drinking games, driving tests, and Josh Widdicombe on afterwards. Binoculars (Cellar, 2013): Stereophonics, Walkers Sensations, and living with gran. Bow Ties & Johnnies (That, 2014): thank you letters, school magazines, and an actual girlfriend. No Filter (Beside, 2015): Birthday pokes, broken Nokias and Eddie Redmayne. Educated Guess (Beneath, 2017): Weakest Link, frosted glass, and the 650 MPs. Motion Sickness (Cabaret Bar, 2018): Go Ape, a proposal, and a second hand fridge. The Game of Life (Forth, 2019): babies, boules, and bloodbaths at the dentist. My Future, My Clutter (One, 2022): Zoom
risottos, childhood short stories, and nuclear fallout at Peppa Pig World. Organised Fun (Beyond, 2023): Traitors, trumps, and treading water through trivia. And now, Grand Designs, a fast and furious return to what Ivo does best: exquisitely articulated updates on a relentlessly chaotic life.
Navigating the increasingly three-dimensional challenges of modern parenthood, running late for trains and planes and actual marathons, and laying out as many deckchairs as he can on the sinking ship of the Fringe. A manic, fate-tempting dissection of the gulf between his expectations and his reality, in a show where you will laugh with him, and laugh at him, and laugh a lot.

The Pleasance Theatre Trust is a charity – registered in both Scotland and England & Wales. Pleasance Futures is the artist development strand of the Pleasance Theatre Trust, acting as an incubator for bold new theatre makers to make their mark and inspiring the next generation through our youth participation and school development initiatives.
Edinburgh National Partnerships
For six years, we’ve worked with theatres across the UK to support exceptional theatre makers on their journeys to the Fringe and beyond.
Pleasance Kidzone
Your one-stop shop for family entertainment on the Fringe, inspiring and engaging children of all ages.
London Associate Artists
Over two years, our Associate Artists are provided with bespoke support and mentoring, as well as the chance to co-curate our bi-annual Futures Festival
The Charlie hartill Fund
Our flagship Fringe fund offers unique and unparalleled support (up to £30,000) to early-career artists and comedians.
Edinburgh Schools Initiative
We provide free tickets and transport for local primary schools, allowing their students to experience some of the best and most exciting shows on the Fringe.
Work in progress
We strive to support artists and comedians year-round in London, to create authentic and boundarypushing work, including our bi-annual Futures Festival
Young Pleasance
Nurturing the talent of the future, we provide young people aged 1621 with the opportunity to make professional work at the Fringe.
A Pleasance Scratch
We curate and host evenings of new and developing theatre in London, offering artists the chance to showcase their work.
School Leavers Programme
We introduce Edinburgh school leavers to careers in the arts through skill development and work-experience during the festival.
support pleasance futures
Our patrons directly support Pleasance Futures, which is at the heart of everything we do, as a charitable organisation that receives no regular public subsidy. Support from our patrons is vital.
With your backing as a Pleasance patron we can continue to mentor creative work and career paths that, without your support, might never come to light.
Pleasance patronage comes in a range of suggested levels of donation, from Yellow to Platinum, all of which offer unique and exciting benefits dedicated to bringing you closer to our work and the artists that we support.
