“Mice and Gods” & “10001110101.” I suddenly wished to be behind the wheel of an American Muscle car traveling at ridiculous speeds through rural California. Being that I stumbled across an impeccable amalgamation of song and band … I naturally needed to explore the force that produces such incredible resonance. When Neil Fallon and I finally had the opportunity to chat, I had lots of questions; like “Who designs the awesome artwork for Clutch Tshirts?” However, I felt it necessary to set my A.D.D. aside and delve directly into the inner workings of what makes Clutch the well-oiled machine that it is. Thus, my first
question was “So… umm… how do you all do it?” Nineteen years. This is the length of time Neil Fallon, Jean-Paul Gaster, Dan Maines, and Tim Sult have been mesmerizing audiences as Clutch, all original members; and more importantly, good friends. This is a glaring truth that most others simply overlook. Over the course of our conversation, it slowly became apparent why friends getting together to share their love of music can grow through a couple decades while simultaneously creating a signature sound only rivaled by the tremendous logos displayed on Clutch T-shirts (seriously… check them out).
Words on a page (or screen) fall short in reciting the full Clutch experience, please check out the Official Clutch MySpace page at www.myspace.com/clutchband for a full listing of tour dates.
