Through the Lens of Raine Chism: Bringing Milkbarn to Life, One Image at a Time

Have you ever gazed at a photograph and immediately felt the essence of that moment? A moment where words may elude you, yet joy, or wonder, or even compassion envelop you? So it is with the photography of Raine Chism and the magic she captures each time she shoots for Milkbarn.

No matter what Raine photographs for Milkbarn, she bridges the gap between a child’s dreamlike fantasy world and a clean, minimal aesthetic of the real world. Amid seemingly insignificant moments or in settings many might see as plain or ordinary, Raine discovers unexpected beauty. This uncanny ability to see our surroundings in a different light is a testament to her imagination and a testament to her God-given talent.

Having shot for Milkbarn for many years, we consider Raine family. And we hope Raine’s latest images for our Fall 2023 collection allow you to see a little more into the Milkbarn world—a world where we’re all family.

Stacy Phillips

Stacy founded Milkbarn in 2006 when she began sewing bibs for her seven-month-old son. What started as Stacy working at her kitchen table has evolved into a business that distributes products to thousands of retailers. Stacy and her husband, Todd, make their home in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee where she loves reading, traveling, long walks, meaningful conversation, exploring backroads and a good cup of tea.

Haley Hunt

Haley is Stacy’s twenty-five-year-old daughter and is an amazing artist. There is magic in a mother-daughter collaboration. For many years, Haley’s sketches and drawings have played an integral part in Milkbarn’s one-of-a-kind prints. Haley and her husband, Charlie, make their home along the shores of San Diego where she enjoys knitting, walks along the beach and experimenting in the kitchen.

Our Cause

Exile International is an organization near and dear to our hearts. Their mission is to bring restoration to rescued child soldiers and children orphaned by war in DR Congo and Uganda. Through art therapy and holistic, rehabilitative care, Exile International empowers former child soldiers and orphans to heal and become leaders of peace. Opening orders must be paid via Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express or pre-payment via check. Terms are available upon request and approval once your account is established.

Returned checks are subject to a $25 fee.

RETURN POLICY

Any damaged items will be replaced or refunded at no additional cost to the buyer. Product you are not completely satisfied with may be returned if reported within 14 days of receipt of shipment. A 15% restocking fee will apply and return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

SHIPPING

Orders typically ship within 2-3 business days of receipt.

All backorders less than $50 or older than 90 days will automatically be canceled unless otherwise specified. All domestic orders ship via UPS or FedEx ground from Petersburg, Tennessee.
