honour of Julius Caesar after his death in 44 BC, July being the month of his birth. Julius Caesar, was a Roman politician and military general who played a critical role in the rise of the Roman Empire. Before it was renamed, the month was known as Quintilis, which means ‘fifth’. "

of creatures, part horse and part man, dwelling in the mountains of Thessaly and Arcadia. Traditionally they were the offspring of Ixion, king of the neighbouring Lapiths, and were best known for their fight with the Lapiths.”
