“The Day God Called You Home” God looked around His garden and He found an empty place. He then looked down upon His earth and saw your tired face and put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best! He knew that you were suffering and that you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough and hills were hard to climb, so he closed your weary eyes and whispered, “Peace be Thine.” It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone, for a part of us went with you. The day God called you home.

“A Tribute to Dad”

He never looked for praises He was never one to boast He just went on quietly working For the ones he loved the most.

His dreams were seldom spoken His wants were very few And most of the time his worries Went unspoken too. He was there... A firm foundation

Through all our storms of life A sturdy hand to hold on to In times of stress and strife.

A true friend we could turn to When times were good or bad One of our greatest blessings The man that we called Dad.

Love forever and a day,

Ebony, Tim, and Essence

“His Journey has Just Begun” Don’t think of him as gone away his journey’s just begun, life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched.. for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much. Love always,

YourSiblings

Gus T. Rhodes was a devout Christian, loving husband, father, pawpaw, brother, son, and friend. Gus touched everyone he came in contact with. Whether it be a sweet smile, firm hand shake or warm embrace every encounter left a lasting impression on any and every soul he encountered. Never a harsh word spoken only love and words of wisdom. With A heart big enough to love the ones no one else would, his love changed the life of many. A long-standing love for anything dealing with cars and wheels the only thing he loved more was family (and the occasional sweet snack) If you know you know. Being in the presence of Gus you knew you were in the presence of the Lord. Gus T. Rhodes III will be more than missed but absolutely never forgotten. To the one’s left with a heavy heart be encouraged to turn to 2 Corinthians 12:9 “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. “
