Jesse Brown Program

Jesse “Pencil” Brown was born to Jesse Brown, a farmer, and Elsie Brown, a homemaker, on July 15, 1938, in Milo, OK. Pencil was surrounded and spoiled by the love of five brothers, but mostly spoiled until he was called home by his six sisters. Pencil lived a life of constant adventure and never found himself alone. As a young man, eager to see what the world had to offer beyond the borders of Carter County, OK, he traveled…a lot. He would describe this exciting period of his life as extreme personal growth, where he had to overcome many obstacles, but also the greatest experience of learning how to become a man that his soon-to-be family would rely on. Jesse met the love of his life and a woman to be reckoned with in the spring of 1957. In his true Casanova fashion, he set his eyes on the beautiful Grace Carter and immediately knew she was his one. They soon married January 27, 1958, and moved to Oklahoma City, OK. This fierce little lady balanced Pencil’s life, and they started a beautiful family, giving birth to Reba D. Johnson, Jesse Brown Jr., and Jeffery E. Brown. Pencil was adorned by his children. There was never a time when he could be spotted without one or all of them at his hip. His eldest son would follow in his footsteps as an auto painter apprentice. With all the love he gave to his kids, he still had plenty to spare for his 14 grandkids and 16 great grandchildren. As an active role model, his grandchildren knew they could always turn to Papa for anything they needed. But his generosity did not stop with his family. He was a pillar of his community and would help anyone who needed it. Jesse “Pencil” Brown joined his wife in Heaven on February 09, 2022 Pencil is preceded in death by his wife, parents, seven siblings, and one grandson. He leaves to cherish many precious memories to his children, Reba Johnson (Ronald), Jesse Brown, Jr., Jeffery Brown (Carol); twelve grandkids, Ronald “Rico” Johnson, Sr. (Tami), Ralisha Thomas (John), Britinie Harrison (Brian), Shameka Rushing, Ritchie Johnson, Sr., Kahtryce Guery (Bryson), Alyia Brown, whom he raised, Jesse Brown IV, Jaekera Jones, Jordan Webb, Jeremiah Jones (deceased), Janiyah Brown; 16 great-grandchildren; and daughters-in-love, Trisha Davis & Gwendolyn Johnson.
