At 9 years old, Kenneth has a stroke resulting in him missing some part of the school term. One teacher named Miss Love took it upon herself to come into our home and tutor him for free so he could catch up with the missed schoolwork. Kenneth always appreciated her kindness and called her his favorite teacher.

Kenneth was a man of great faith. In Oklahoma Kenneth worshipped at the McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman and in California, he worshipped at Mosaic Church in LA.

involved in brand-marketing in account management at UMB and managed portfolios for 200+ international and US clients. He consulted with brands to build social media, online merchandising, booth merchandise and managed at the collective shows in IG.

In high school, Kenneth was named “Kennie Fresh” and all who came around addressed him as such. From high school, Kenneth went to OU and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Communication with emphasis in P.R. and marketing.

Kenneth also worked at Trunk Club LA selling luxury apparel. He managed books for lot of clients who bought monthly and styled men in casual attire and men suiting.

Kenneth Nana Osei Sampong was born on July 26, 1988, in Accra, Ghana, to Mr. Ernest Sampong and Mrs. Lucy Adiza Elbah, and came to the United States in 1991, when he was only three (3) years old and lived in Norman. Kenneth started his elementary education at Oakridge Elementary in Del City, and then to Truman Elementary in Norman, Whittier Middle School in Norman and Norman North High school.

Kenneth told his mother he was going to build a Dan Morton Tailoring business in LA. He was very serious about work. He wasn’t afraid to take on anything. He had set big goals and achieved them in such a short time. He had faith in the Lord, and that whatever he did he knew that with faith, belief and trust in God that he could achieve anything.

The initial plan when he moved to Cali was to work for HypeBeast, but that dream did not happen immediately, but he kept trying and ended up getting a job at the barracks. Hard work led him to joining HypeBeast Inc.

Kenneth was friendly, kind, and generous which resulted in him gaining multiple friends and becoming very popular amongst his classmates, teachers, and peers.

After graduating in 2012, Kenneth worked with various companies including Astrazeneca. He decided he wanted to explore the outer world and what it had to offer, so he ended up relocating to Santa Monica, KennethCalifornia.was

Kenny was proceeded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, aunties Abiana Morton and Lily Morton. Kenny is survived by his parents, aunties, uncles, siblings, cousins, the love of his life Sarah, and lots of friends to mourn him.

Kenneth was loved by his coworkers because of his demeanor and hard work even though he was battling a disease. He was able to manage work and treatment at the same time. In LA he made lots of friends and once again became popular. He had a great laugh and sense of humor that drew people close to him. He truly did enjoy working for HypeBeast Inc.

Although Kenneth is no longer with us, he will always have a place in our hearts and will always be remembered. His legacy will live forever. We love you Kenneth and will miss you. Rest in Peace till we meet again.

Message from Kenneth to All Always put God first in everything, Let Jesus be your friend and let the Holy Spirit guide you in all you do and most of all let peace, joy, love, and kindness reign forever.

Kenneth really did enjoy life to the fullest. He would have friend’s allover come to LA to celebrate his birthday including his parents. He was planning a big birthday bash for July 26,2022.

We were looking forward to attend, but on July 14,2022 death laid it’s icy hands-on Kenneth. That didn’t stop his friends, family and peers from celebrating. Had a big celebration on July 29,2022 and the turnout was huge and very successful.

Kenneth was a true fighter, and throughout his life, he had to battle sickle cell anemia disease. He was fortunate to have received treatment from several institutions including the National Institute of Health (NIH) Bethesda, Maryland.

Isaiah 40:31- “But those who wait on the Lord, shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not be faint. Amen (NKJV)Thank you for being a blessing in our lives. We want to take a moment and let you know much you were appreciated. You were and, you will still be our true angel. We are more grateful for you than words can express. Few people possess the considerate, unselfish, loving heart that you had. Kenneth, we thank you for your kindness and for being the wonderful person you were. We know we were blessed to have you in our lives. There are no tears in Heaven nor grief of any kind that can console us during this time. Though absent from the body, we know you are present with the Lord.

We love you Kenny forever for always, no matter what. The first time I held you in my hands, I was overwhelmed with love and I knew at that moment I knew the good Lord has blessed me with me with a wonderful gift. You brought joy to us and everyone around you. Your demeanor lit up a room wherever you entered. It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone for part of us went with you when God brought you home. You left us, your friends and coworkers with peaceful and joyful memories. Your love is still a guide to all of us and though we can not see you, you are always by our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link up again. Kenny, Naa Sei, Lucy Adiza, Miss Lucy as you always called me. I will always love you and miss you. Son, I may have taught you how but you have shown me why. I may have given you wings, but you’ve helped me fly. You were always there for me and I have learned a lot from you. You taught me how to love and forgive. I am so blessed and proud of you. In spite of all the pain, sorrow and the suffering you endured you always had a smile on your face. I am so blessed to be your mother and I am very proud of you. The world is not the same without Kenny Fresh. Naa Sei Rest in perfect peace until we meet again.

Mr. Ernest Osei Sampong ~ Deaconess Lucy Elbah

To my son, I was so lucky to have you as my son from the moment you allowed me to walk into your life. I knew I was blessed even though we didn’t know each other from the beginning. You were so kind and easy going that you allowed me to join you and your mother. The bond between you and your mother was great, but you allowed me in. You always reminded me that I was old school that you were going to Hollywood to experience life. I’m not giving up on that dream anytime soon son. I enjoyed the morning rides to the daycare, picking you up after school, going to church every Sunday, the conversations we had and some of the questions you would ask me that I didn’t have answers for you. Yet, you had answers to them. I have learned a lot from you. Kenneth, I loved you so much and I enjoyed hanging around you and your friends. I was never tired of going to blockbuster to rent videos and going to Pizza Hut to pick up your order for you and your friends on Fridays and Saturdays. I never got tired of waiting on you even till now. I enjoyed staying up all night making sure you guys were ok. Kenneth, even on days you weren’t feeling fine you would tell me you were ok so I would also stop worrying. I watched you transition from elementary school, middle school, high school, to starting college and graduating with flying colors. I watched you become a man, not just a man but a man who was so brave and bold. You never settled for anything less. You even taught me how to be a loving and caring father. You corrected me when I was wrong. Kenneth, I thank you for all the life lesson. Thank you for being a wonderful son. I miss going to the mall with you. Even when you were in LA we were still shopping online together. You always wanted to know my options, but your decisions were always final. Son, you will be missed dearly. To my star Kenneth, my heart still aches with sadness and secret tears still flow. What it means to lose you no one will never know. RIP Son, till we meet again. I will always carry you in my heart. You give me so many reasons to be proud of the man you’ve become. The proudest moment of all is when I got to call you, my son. I will love you forever and always.

Litle did we know God was going to call his name. Our time with you brother, has even cut short, but your memories and impact will forever live on. As you walked on earth with courage and confidence each day, so shall we, knowing that one day we will reunite. Forever in our hearts, until we meet again.

Here’s a young man who endured pain, had over one hundred hospitalizations, numerous emergency room visits for 33 years and never once complained but rather greeted you with his ever-present smile. He fought through his pain and was able to accomplish for himself a life of independence, career accomplishment, along the way winning loyal friends and coworkers who looked to him for inspiration. Look around this room and see all the love bestowed upon Kenneth; because we remember how genuine and loving he was. Though our beloved nephew has left us, his ever-present smile, compassion and love will live on forever in our hearts. Family and friends be humbled by Kenneth’s life, his struggle to live and his final passing! Now, he goes to the place where we are all going to go when it is our turn. Let his smile, compassion and love be a beacon of hope for all of us. Rest well our beloved nephew Kenneth Nana Osei Sampong.

This morning we are reminded by the life of Kenneth to love one another, to project love, to stop complaining and to stop finding fault where there is no fault. His passing teaches us to be loving, all forgiving and above all to love the Lord through whom we are all strengthened.

On behalf of the Morton Uncles and Aunties, I stand here today to pay tribute to and bid farewell to our beloved nephew Kenneth Nana Osei Sampong. In paying tribute, we would like to ask a few questions. What is it that irks or troubles you today? What is it that makes your blood boil? And lastly what is it that makes you spew fire and brimstone? I could go on and on but that is not the reason why we are here today.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Psalms 23 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Kenneth, although you are gone from this earth, we believe your spirit is still with us. Encouraging us. Pushing us to make that move we’re too afraid to make, to be the people we want to be no matter the obstacle, to love and support one another, and to stay close as a friend group. We know that’s what you would want. We love you and we cannot wait to see you again.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Kenneth Sampong It’s a difficult task to write a tribute to Kenneth on behalf of all his friends, because we could all talk for days about the stories we have, the way he impacted our lives, and what he meant to us. But I think it all boils down to one thing we as his friends had in common, our absolute love and admiration for KennieFresh. For as long as we’ve known Kenneth, we knew him to be bursting with positivity, laughter, and warmth. His voice would carry for miles. He could walk into the biggest restaurant and you knew right then: Kennie has arrived. For someone who lived with so much pain. So much burden. He never let that stop him from being there for his friends, his family, and his mother.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

Even in the midst of what he went through, we all knew we could call him any time and he would put whatever was going on with him at that time aside, and truly be invested in whatever YOU had going on. For that, I know we owe a significant amount of gratitude to his mother, Ms. Lucy. I know there were countless phone calls Ms. Lucy took, to hear him struggle with what was going on. To ask, “why him”. To hope for a better way. I know she had that burden laid on her so that he could be fully present with us. So, Ms. Lucy we thank you, for allowing us to have the version of Kenneth that we all loved so dearly. We thank you for all you did behind the scenes, so we could enjoy those precious moments. Had you not been there, I struggle to think we could’ve had the same KennethKennieFresh.lived a fearless life, and we cannot express how proud we are of him. He absolutely refused to let anything stand in the way of achieving the success he dreamt of for himself. The courage it took for him to pack his bags and chase his dreams in LA, is something that will inspire us forever. What he built for himself out there is nothing short of amazing. Though we are sad that we couldn’t see the completion of the empire he was building, we feel fortunate to have watched him grow and to watch him begin to realize his dreams. He was a professional. He was an expert communicator. He was a hard worker. He was inspiration. He was black excellence.

Our thoughts go out to you and all of Kenneth’s loved ones. From the Hypebeast family

Love, Kenneth,Kat I love you so much, and I can’t explain how much I love you. You were so strong, and you always had a positive attitude and positive relationship with everyone, and you turned the negative to positive. I love you so much bro, you are the real MVP.

Love, Your Guy - Trev Best, Kateri Zapp

To the family and friends of Kenneth, We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Kenneth. The team has nothing but good things to say about him and we appreciate everything that he contributed to the company and its culture. It was a privilege to have him in the Hypebeast family and we are truly grateful to have had an employee like Kenneth whose kindness and dedication showed beyond just his work ethic. For this, his legacy will live on as we all continue to remember Kenneth as the person he was.

Kenneth was the best friend I always prayed for, and he turned into that best friend for Trevin too. To say that we are blessed is an understatement, because God really loaned one of his angels to us to love in person, laugh with, learn from, and make memories with that I will forever hold onto. I promise to learn how to play 2k with Trevin, to sleep in more, to be strong like you, not be so stressed, and to make our dreams come to life. I miss you every day and I know that will never stop, but I thank God for the time we all got with you. I love you only friend, keep bringing people together and shining your light through the ones you touched.

Tribute from Kateri, Trevin and Hypebeast

It’s difficult to put over two decades of friendship into a few sentences especially when Kenneth was always the one smoother with words. In 3rd grade we started calling each “only friend” and only we truly understood it, but it stuck with us from elementary school, all the way to chasing our dreams in Los Angeles, and it will forever stick with us. That’s the type of friend Kenneth was, no matter how long it had been, where he had been or you had been, he would always remember the things that connected you with him and made you feel special in a way others weren’t capable.

Tribute from Sareh Szela

I couldn’t find the right way to start writing about you as if you weren’t here anymore, so I decided to write to you. The way it always was with us. Just you and me. I could write a long list of everything I love about you: how your smile radiated energy through my entire body, how you made me feel comfortable dancing anywhere, how you had the perfect legs for joggers, how you held me accountable, how you weren’t ashamed of the fact you still wanted to be in a boy band. The things I miss the most are all the little things: how we sat side by side in every restaurant, how we shared our own language, how rapidly 4am approached once we started talking, how you brought never ending laughter to our mundane daily routines, how when I was hand in hand with you, I felt like I could do anything. You constantly reminded me that life is meant to be LIVED and I could not let my fear get in the way. You asked me to be present with you, to dive in and just be there with you. You wouldn’t let a day go by without asking me to tell you something good, to recognize the highlights. You were so wise. You saw the world in vibrant colors, and you breathed life into every moment we shared. You made me the best version of me, and you changed my life forever. If I could do it all over, every time, I would dive in with you. I will always have separation anxiety from you, but forever I carry your heart in mine.

Kenneth was a gentle soul who was full of life and personified resilience in its purest form. He always met me with a smile and some humor derived from his analysis of my personality. He had an eye for the finer things in life. He tried to get me into that high-end way of life, but to be honest, I couldn’t keep Afterup.

Kenneth was a naturally gifted entrepreneur and was always on the lookout for opportunities. He was a prolific blogger, a marketing genius, and was always interested in the stock market; he did it all. He always found comfort in seeing several zeros behind the numbers in his savings account. He kept life very simple; follow your dreams and never back down. When obstacles come your way just keep moving. When trials come your way, just keep moving. No matter what comes your way, just keep moving. Even in his passing to glory, his actions echo loudly to Emmanuel and I. Kenneth, your passing is an irreplaceable loss; however, we know you are in a better place. Our pain is overwhelming but we are grateful to God that this is not a “goodbye”, it is only a “see you later.”

You will forever live in our hearts.

They who work without complaining do the Holy will of God. Yes, Nasei as we affectionately called him lived with us in Ghana briefly before leaving to the USA at a tender age to live with his mother and Heuncle.was a very strong-willed boy who defied all odds and braved through life to achieve his dreams despite his medical condition.

A very loving and affable guy who settles for nothing but the best He was loved by all those came in contact with him We were hoping of meeting our nephew this year when his mother visited Ghana but it was not to be. We will miss you dearly nephew We love you but GOD loves more Fare thee well Rest in Perfect Peace

To the glory of GOD, he achieved his set goals

They who tread the path of labour follow where my feet have trod.

But when I walked through Heaven's gates, I felt so much at home. When God looked down and smiled at me, From his great & golden throne, He said, "This is eternity, and all I've promised you. Today your life on Earth is past, but here it starts anew. I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last, and since each day is the same day, there's no longing for the past. . But you have been so faithful, so trusting and so true, Though there were some times you did some things you shouldn't do. . But you have been forgiven, and now at last you're free, So come and take me by the hand, and share my life with me."

Tribute from The Mbroh Family

I wish so much you wouldn't cry, the way you did today, While thinking of the many things we never got to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you. And each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me, Please try to understand. An angel came and called my name and took me by the hand, It seemed my place was ready - In Heaven far above, and that I'd have to leave behind, those things I dearly love.

I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad. I thought of all the love we shared, and how much fun we had.

But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye. For all of life, I'd always thought, I didn't want to die. I had so much to live for, so much yet to do, It seemed almost impossible, that I was leaving you.

"When Tomorrow Starts Without Me.."

If I could relive yesterday, just even for a while, I'd say goodbye, then kiss you ‘til I saw that special smile. But then I fully realized, that it could never be, 'Cause emptiness and memories, would take the place of me. And when I thought of all those things, I might miss come tomorrow, I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was filled with sorrow. .

When tomorrow starts without me, and I'm not there to see. If the sun should rise and find your eyes, all filled with tears for me.

So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'll be right there - in your Heart.

We are very sad sorry to hear about Kenneth. We watched him grow up before our eyes over all these years. I always called him my other son. We would talk about his cars and my son’s car. He was so proud when he got his dream car. I used to tell him he was so metro sexual because that boy had a sense of style! I remember him showing up at the hospital in a suit and tie, he was so snazzy My heart just breaks for you. I still have text from him from over the years. I just loved that kid. We all loved him. Love to you and your family from his hospital mommas!!
