Why You Should Drink Your Coffee Black “Those fancy coffee shop concoctions don’t count as health food.”
Despite what you may have heard, coffee isn’t bad for your health and well-being. Quite the opposite is true. Coffee is actually good for you. This is particularly true when you drink it black. I hate to break the bad news to you, but those fancy coffee shop concoctions - or that cup of coffee with vanilla creamer that looks and tastes more like a cookie - don’t count as health food. While you still get the benefits from the black coffee, you’re more than negating them with the sugar, trans-fats, and artificial flavorings. For optimal health, switch to drinking your coffee black. Not only is it much better for your body, you’ll also be saving quite a few calories. For example, did you know that the average large Cafe Mocha has close to 500 calories? That’s a fourth of your total calories for the day for the average moderately active person. Having one of these just twice a week may be enough to start seeing the pounds creep up over time.
