TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR STREET There’s a huge amount of satisfaction to be gained by doing something well, and being the best you can be. I look around at all the happy people and they all have one thing in common. They all have a sense of achievement. It can be on pretty much any level but as long as it’s there, happiness seems to be right there with it. A little bit of effort by each and every resident can make a huge difference to the look of your street and can markedly affect the value of your home. By crossing the road and looking back at your home, you will probably find a whole lot of small things that could make a big difference. space. Take a long look and see how you can make your home more beautiful – do it for yourself and do it for your neighbours. Take pride in your street and reap the rewards. If you take on the responsibility of your patch, others will follow and before you know it your street will be a standout! In the meantime, I will approach your council and suggest they run an annual competition for the best street in each suburb and the prize to be a 50% reduction in rates for that street as a little incentive to get started. So watch this space and cross the road right now to see what you could do to make your place sparkle from the street! NIKI PEINKE
